I love RD to death. I'm reeeeealy nervous about a prequel? Like, why?

Wasn't he long abandoned when they found him in the OG series, caring for two fancy skeletons?

Anything is now possible.

Long abandoned, but not 3 million years abandoned.

Unless this prequel is set after Lister goes into stasis.

New Red dwarf content with the original cast makes me feel human, happy, and very, very old.

[–] BradleyUffner@lemmy.world 6 points 5 days ago

There isn't enough makeup in the universe to get this cast looking ready for a prequel.

if they persuade chris barrie to do the audiobook i'm in

"WHAT IS IT?"

[–] db2@lemmy.world 6 points 6 days ago

I'll probably pass on this. I enjoyed the revival with the older cast but let's be honest about it, the series was pushed exactly far enough by it and as a whole should be left alone as a masterpiece.

Sounds promising. It could suck, sure, but none of the Brian Herbert novels made me lose my love of Dune. So I’ll give it a try.

I mean I did not lose my love the original trilogy but the introduction of the flash left me flat. Can't say I thought the later novels were all that great.

[–] Zagam@piefed.social 6 points 6 days ago

I hope its at least as good as the US TV pilot.

[–] zaphod@sopuli.xyz 5 points 6 days ago

I'm slightly concerned.
