Beyond the headline, it is just some weaksauce satire.

Really I couldn’t care less about pump prices. But hopefully the shocks shake a few more consumers off their petroleum addiction.

In all fairness, though ... if I only cared about what happened to me, personally, a slight change in gas prices is probably the only change that will actually happen in my life due to this war.

Which is kind of sad, really. But true.

(Don't worry. Plenty of the other shit the US government is doing will affect me much more directly, so I'll still get mine.)

Yeah totally, that's a point of the satire. It's pretty surprising the dolts who missed it.

Maybe the car cult is so strong that this article is like Poe's law. I can kinda understand.
