Nobody gives a fuck about housing...once they purchase their fifth house

This is why it's unfair to compare Trump to Hitler: Hitler actual cared about housing (and food) for his people.

It's half a shit bill, anyhow. It limits very large institutions from owning "normal homes", but opens up and loosens restrictions on manufactured homes. So they can still knock out a lot of owned houses. They'll just be the shittier kind that won't last as long before they go bad. Housing will be replaced by ones that last 30 years instead of ones that can last 75 years.

Today's McMansions will be lucky to last 30 years.

Full “I don’t care” mode. Any pretenses of being president of a nation is gone, he’a treating the country like a throwaway business deal. Use it up, bankrupt it, take what he wants. I’d say hooker, but at least they get paid.

He's got his new position as Supreme Leader of the Bored of Peace with 10s of thousands of troops, limitless funding, world-wide playground, and an array of henchmen ready to do his bidding.

It'll basically be the Wagner group on steroids. Funded by billionaires, for billionaires.

He isn't loyal to the U.S., it's just a stepping stone, and he has to make sure he collapses it from the inside out so it can't compete with his Bored of Peace army. He's counting on the U.S. military to collapse.

He's a narcissist and a sociopath. He literally cannot comprehend other people's perspective. If he doesn't see a benefit for himself than it's not important.

[–] inclementimmigrant@lemmy.world 53 points 14 hours ago (1 children)

You just also described most Republicans.

[–] minorkeys@lemmy.world 15 points 13 hours ago

The right in a nutshell. Selfish and greedy.

[–] Typhoon@lemmy.ca 17 points 14 hours ago

That's why it's so easy for him to rape and murder. From his perspective it's a good thing he fucked a child.

[–] Asafum@lemmy.world 121 points 17 hours ago (3 children)

And as usual no MAGA will ever hear about this. :(

[–] Steve@startrek.website 17 points 14 hours ago

The most frustrating part.

[–] reddig33@lemmy.world 7 points 12 hours ago

If they did hear it, they’d just excuse it.

[–] ChonkyOwlbear@lemmy.world 89 points 16 hours ago

Landlord doesn't give a fuck about housing costs. Shocking!

[–] TrickDacy@lemmy.world 32 points 14 hours ago

The quiet parts are never quiet anymore

[–] Soulphite@reddthat.com 53 points 16 hours ago

My wife doesn't even look at me the way Mike "I don't recall" Johnson looks at that pedophile... I mean, God damn.

[–] Maeve@kbin.earth 62 points 17 hours ago (1 children)

When he says the quiet part aloud.

[–] RaoulDook@lemmy.world 45 points 16 hours ago (1 children)

What he really meant was that "We (the rich) don't give a fuck about anybody else's life"

[–] floofloof@lemmy.ca 38 points 16 hours ago (2 children)

And his wording reveals that he moves so exclusively in those circles that he forgot ordinary Americans exist.

[–] CitizenKong@lemmy.world 22 points 16 hours ago (1 children)

Forgot? He was never not filthy rich.

[–] voidsignal@lemmy.world 6 points 15 hours ago

He's been pretending. Which in the stupid US economy, is enough. "Just wish for it very very hard"

[–] notwhoyouthink@lemmy.zip 6 points 14 hours ago

Absofuckinglutely. When he speaks of the economy or any other topic relating to money, he’s not speaking to the rest of us. He has absolutely no ability to speak to or for us because he is not us.

He speaks for and to the wealthy, not because he doesn’t know we don’t exist but because he doesn’t care and doesn’t need to. So when he claims the economy is booming, when he claims that affordability is only a word that his opponents made up, and when he says shit like this about housing, he’s talking to his shareholders: the wealthy who hold his power and love having him as the face that distracts us from all they continue to take from us.

[–] BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.today 19 points 14 hours ago

Hitler blaming his generals, and forcing them to follow his ignorant losing strategies.

[–] manxu@piefed.social 27 points 16 hours ago (1 children)

Someone explain to this man the connection between affordability and housing. He may not know the two are intertwined.

[–] floofloof@lemmy.ca 3 points 12 hours ago (1 children)

Would it make any difference? He doesn't give a fuck about affordability either, and neither does anyone else he would even notice.

[–] manxu@piefed.social 1 points 12 hours ago

For some strange reason, he seems to care about polling numbers 🙃

[–] Treczoks@lemmy.world 14 points 15 hours ago (1 children)

This perfectly describes how much he lost touch with reality.

[–] RedGreenBlue@lemmy.zip 13 points 15 hours ago (1 children)

I don't think he has ever touched reality.

[–] Tolookah@discuss.tchncs.de 14 points 14 hours ago

Pretty sure reality is too old for him

[–] NoneOfUrBusiness@fedia.io 10 points 16 hours ago (1 children)

"GOP housing bill" isn't a string of words I expected to read in 2026.

[–] GoofSchmoofer@lemmy.world 5 points 13 hours ago

The contents of which will read -

"If you or your shell company owns 50+ single family homes and/or 20+ apartment buildings then you'll be able to buy 500 more of either, or a combination of both fully subsidized by the American tax payer. If you don't have any home then fuck off!"

[–] crusa187@lemmy.ml 3 points 12 hours ago

Bold strategy, Cotton

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 6 points 16 hours ago (1 children)

Cannot wait to see the Murc's Law take on this about how this is really the fault of the Democratic Party.
