That's why the schools pushed so hard for more ipads and digital learning but the government will never admit it.

So what, you want a spiky pencil?

Wait, that's a toothbrush. Nevermind.

[–] Chick0nPlayz@lemmy.world 2 points 9 hours ago

This is proof AI is better for the environment than pencilslop.

Thought 1: This is the most Lemmy image I've seen all day.

Thought 2: I am unavoidably going to make a comment to my wife about grabbing her like a dual shock controller. Probably right as said grabbing occurs. And I probably won't explain myself.

I've got this from lemmy. And the boy was an answer to it. So yeah, checks out.

I am confuse are they saying hatsune miku is made of baja blast

[–] TheColonel@reddthat.com 6 points 9 hours ago (1 children)

I believe, given that she’s by a restroom, that she’s pissing Baja Blast.

The red arrow also seems to be indicating it’s from her bladder.

I will honor its sacrifice by using the pencil to draw Sonic furry porn

[–] Korne127@lemmy.world 14 points 23 hours ago

Pics or it didn't happen

[–] bibbasa@piefed.social 4 points 16 hours ago

hedgehogs are misunderstood. their backs are spiney but if you can get to the prize underneath you are rewarded with the softest fur you could ever lay hands on.

[–] sundray@lemmus.org 5 points 18 hours ago

Ah yes, the hedgehog dilemma.

[–] TheTechnician27@lemmy.world 20 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (1 children)

Disgusting. This is why I only use ethically sourced mechanical pencils.

[–] Brahvim@lemmy.kde.social 5 points 17 hours ago (1 children)

Wouldn't they be made of plastic? Do you also ethically dump their remains?

[–] TheTechnician27@lemmy.world 3 points 16 hours ago* (last edited 16 hours ago) (1 children)

Listen, okay, over 90% of your oh-so-"natural" hedgehog-based pencils are dyed with carcinogenic chromium (pictured in the OP as the yellow color) and act as an environmental contaminant when thrown away. At worst, it's a lateral change to use plastic.

[–] Brahvim@lemmy.kde.social 2 points 9 hours ago (1 children)

I actually had no idea these were a different kind of pencil! The kind I've always used are ordinary wooden ones that... well, some people chew up, the graphite in which uses clay, shavings of which are usually fine-ish (maybe not?!) to dispose off anywhere and... some startup, years ago, tried putting plant saplings in.

[–] TheTechnician27@lemmy.world 1 points 4 hours ago* (last edited 4 hours ago)

Sorry, I didn't mean to spread misinformation. Nothing in the OP is dangerous (that I know of). I thought we were doing a shitpost-y rehash of the cow-based versus plant-based leather argument you see online sometimes.

Specifically, plant-based leather normally is plastic, but then over 90% of cow-based leather is chromium-tanned so it doesn't naturally decompose (cross-links the collagen fibers). In a recent study, 82% of cow-based leather products sampled from southeastern China contained more than the EU regulatory limit for CrVI.

The argument being that, between that poor disposibility of the overwhelming majority of cow leather and the relatively enormous amount of resources that go into making it (raising the cow, slaughterhouse, tannery (esp. toxic runoff for the latter)), citing the environment as a justification to dunk on vegans for using plastic-based leather reflects a narrow understanding of cow leather's impact on the environment.

Yes, the alternative is cutting down trees and that's horrible

[–] HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world 1 points 16 hours ago

we can multitask

[–] Korne127@lemmy.world 9 points 23 hours ago (1 children)
[–] MoffKalast@lemmy.world 3 points 22 hours ago

But it's just 50 cents.

Well you can hold it now
