Literally warms my heart to about 300,000 Kelvin. ❀️‍πŸ”₯🫢

[–] OriginEnergySux@lemmy.world 4 points 1 month ago (1 children)

I watched this movie each weekend for like 2 years straight when i was a kid, i was addicted to this movie lol

[–] Lazylazycat@lemmy.world 4 points 1 month ago

Same, my dad recorded them off TV for me and my sister when I was like 5 and we'd watch them obsessively πŸ˜‚

Wow, this really blew up!

[–] gmtom@lemmy.world 33 points 1 month ago (3 children)

It's just now occuring to me how weird it is to have a playground like that just on top of a hill surrounded by a like 8 foot chain link fence with a massive gate on the front.

[–] samus12345@sh.itjust.works 19 points 1 month ago

It's a dream, so it being weird actually makes sense.

[–] rumba@lemmy.zip 12 points 1 month ago (2 children)

It' keeps the terminators out, but the t1000's can just melt through

[–] fizzbang@lemmy.world 5 points 1 month ago

In order for a t100 to get in some guy in the Philippines has to take over and remote control it to open the gate

[–] flamingleg@lemmy.ml 4 points 1 month ago

you can't just skinwalk through a dream gate! if the t1000 got through it would look like a ditto before transforming or maybe like a metal slime from dragon quest or like a machine elf yeerk from animorphs or like...

[–] Spendius@lemmy.world 11 points 1 month ago (2 children)

You wouldn't want the kids to run out into the streets and get hit by a pickup truck, right?

[–] Samskara@sh.itjust.works 13 points 1 month ago (1 children)
[–] qbus@lemmy.world 6 points 1 month ago

Balls containment is always important. Got to keep them safe

Depends on the kid.

Howdy, neighbor! It really is such a beautiful day! It's just so lovely to see you here at the park.

[–] Rhaedas@fedia.io 7 points 1 month ago

The alternate ending is the real ending.

[–] cyberpunk007@lemmy.ca 7 points 1 month ago (2 children)

Look at that beautiful polluted sky

[–] db2@lemmy.world 14 points 1 month ago (2 children)

That's just the color things were in the 90s.

[–] SlurpingPus@lemmy.world 7 points 1 month ago

Exactly, all the vhs tapes confirm this.

I didn't realize this scene was in Mexico.

Im afraid to ask if you do know what this is from

[–] Kraiden@piefed.social 7 points 1 month ago (2 children)

I'm afraid to ask what this is from, because it seems everyone knows...

Terminator 2: Judgment Day

(Now go watch it. It's a masterpiece)

[–] MTZ@lemmy.world 14 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago) (3 children)

It's shocking how good T2 actually is. It's almost perfect, really. I wonder how it holds up today. I bet it still holds up very well today, even without the dozens of frightening parallels to the real world.

[–] caseyweederman@lemmy.ca 11 points 1 month ago

I just showed it to my kids this past weekend (you know, to celebrate Easter) and I kept pausing it to gush about the techniques and special effects.
Luckily, autism is hereditary.

[–] SlurpingPus@lemmy.world 7 points 1 month ago (2 children)

It's just astoundingly well-made if one ponders the details. The semi truck looks unmistakably menacing straight from its appearance from the overpass. T1000 famously runs like a robot rather than a human.

[–] MTZ@lemmy.world 5 points 1 month ago

Yeah, definitely. And this particular scene where Sarah is dreaming of the nuclear blast is forever seared into my memory. It starts off normal(ish) but it quickly becomes apparent that something is very, very wrong. Then, in an instant, just complete destruction... everywhere.

As a kid who grew up on the East Coast, on a major military base during the tail end of the Cold War, this scene really messed with me.

[–] ChickenLadyLovesLife@lemmy.world 4 points 1 month ago (3 children)

And doesn't blink when shooting!
