The headset sticks to your face and the screen turns on. A gentle British voice starts speaking into your ears
“Welcome to NASA’s medicine in microgravity course. Let’s dive right in, shall we? For the first lesson, ensure your index and middle fingers are generously lubricated…”

I'm loving the early 90s style. And I think I had my picture taken with that background at Olan Mills at some point.
Lawnmower Woman?
A finger gun and a thumbs up.
Wonder why it never caught on...
Is she playing the beta release of smell my fingers VR?
Looks like me when I play any VR game. If I'm not pistol whipping, I'm monologuing like a supervillain 😂
Two in the pink, one in the stink.

That's more 'one on the pink, one in the stink",
I initially thought this might be AI generated because it looked a little bit odd to me, but nope, seems to be real!
Here's some other ones from NASA:
Anyone know who this "researcher" is? Stereotyping a bit here, but as someone coming from the research community this gives off much stronger 90s magazine model vibes than computer scientist vibes.
The Mercury, or maybe Apollo mission space suit photos had the some of the real astronauts in silver spray painted work boots because the actual boots weren’t ready when the photo was taken. NASA knows how to promo.
Model. Why is she wearing a flight suit.
Was it built specifically for promotional material like this picture? Or does NASA really stamp their logo on anything they build larger than an envelope?
Looks more likely to be a sticker or fridge magnet that they slapped on a project enclosure. This one looks to be almost identical, and it seems like they used their headsets for a virtual wind tunnel and for navigating Antarctic submersibles.
She knows how to find it!
Pew pew
What's crazy is we had stereo vision headsets for things like the Playstation already.
VirtualBoy was Nintendos VR gaming headset came out in 1995...
...in the same era almost every laser tag place had a VR arcade machine in the lobby... Almost all of them had the same game on them.
"headset"
Already? In 1992? For a console that didn’t come out until 1995?
Idk why but it looks soooo fake
Those shoulder pads
With controllers still less intrusive than they are now. I mean, that's a LOT of wires, but it's just like a latex glove. That's neat.
