Ask Lemmy
A Fediverse community for open-ended, thought provoking questions
Rules: (interactive)
1) Be nice and; have fun
Doxxing, trolling, sealioning, racism, toxicity and dog-whistling are not welcomed in AskLemmy. Remember what your mother said: if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all. In addition, the site-wide Lemmy.world terms of service also apply here. Please familiarize yourself with them
2) All posts must end with a '?'
This is sort of like Jeopardy. Please phrase all post titles in the form of a proper question ending with ?
3) No spam
Please do not flood the community with nonsense. Actual suspected spammers will be banned on site. No astroturfing.
4) NSFW is okay, within reason
Just remember to tag posts with either a content warning or a [NSFW] tag. Overtly sexual posts are not allowed, please direct them to either !asklemmyafterdark@lemmy.world or !asklemmynsfw@lemmynsfw.com.
NSFW comments should be restricted to posts tagged [NSFW].
5) This is not a support community.
It is not a place for 'how do I?', type questions.
If you have any questions regarding the site itself or would like to report a community, please direct them to Lemmy.world Support or email info@lemmy.world. For other questions check our partnered communities list, or use the search function.
6) No US Politics.
Please don't post about current US Politics. If you need to do this, try !politicaldiscussion@lemmy.world or !askusa@discuss.online
Reminder: The terms of service apply here too.

There's a ton of music by the decades:
!1950smusic@lemmy.world
!60smusic@lemmy.world
!70smusic@lemmy.world
!80smusic@lemmy.world
!90smusic@lemmy.world
!2000s_music@lemmy.world
!2010smusic@kbin.earth
!2010s_music@lemmy.world
!2020s_music@lemmy.world
Put 'em all together, and there's a decent stream of music.
A couple of people post music every day on their own channels, I don't know how they keep it up:
I enjoy connectasong and eternal playlist.
Never heard of the connectasong /c's but I like it!
It turns out there are 2 of them:
!connectasong@lemmy.world
!connectasong@reddthat.com
The latter is not too populated though.
I am no musician, so I cannot comment in which communities exist. On the "void" part, you can help by contributing to existing but virtually dead communities by posting and commenting there. Sure, that sounds like a standard phrase from Lemmy's advertising, but this is how active communities are built (that and that newcomers are treated well). Good luck in any case! 😀
Mine 😜, not as active as they once were, though they have shit tons of content to last you a lifetime, especially the thrash one. Were uploaded to daily by multiple posters for over two years. !thrashmetal@lemmy.world !heavymetal@lemmy.world
!gothindustrial@lemmy.world - daily updates, like 90% music and 10% cartoons and memes.
