Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche is not ruling out making payments to those who stormed the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, as part of the Justice Department’s new, $1.8 billion “Anti-Weaponization Fund.”

“Anybody can apply,” Blanche said during a Senate appropriations subcommittee hearing Tuesday morning in response to a question from Sen. Chris Coons (D-Del.).

“ The commissioners will set rules I’m sure,” Blanche continued. “That’s not for me to set. That’s for the commissioners, and whether an individual, an Oath Keeper as you just mentioned, applies for compensation … anybody in this country can apply.”

LOL, the party of "back the blue" is...backing payments for people that assaulted police officers in one of the largest terrorist attacks in American history.

[–] triptrapper@lemmy.world 7 points 5 days ago

"Anybody in the country could apply"

It'd be a shame if everyone in the country applied

I mean, going a step further, it's not like fraud means anything anymore, just pretend your Enrique Tarrio and take his check.

Since we're basically in a free-for-all in terms of identity theft in this country, seeing how many people scammed the US unemployment systems during COVID, I bet these people would not have anywhere near the systems in place to actually ensure they're sending checks to the real people, and not people impersonating them.

Who frauds the fraudsters?

Why let those assholes take the whole pie if anyone can apply?

You could make some fake AI photos of you and the fucking q anon shaman ripping shots and yelling with one another in front of the capitol or some shit.

Could even make a fucking business out of it. You want me to Photoshop you with QAnon shaman to make sure those assholes don't get a handout bigger than we do?

Gimme $50. I got you.

🤷‍♂️

Hopefully this gets stopped in court, given that the "unfair targeting" allegation really has no leg to stand on since these people were convicted in a court of law and part of accepting a pardon means admitting guilt.

Insurrectionists or traitors, not rioters

In a sane world, this would be a "You've won a free boat! Claim your prize at the police station" trap, but such is not the world we're living in.

God we live in such a fucked up timeline.

If one of those traitors lived near me, and they got a fat payout, after being sprung from prison, their house would burn down, and other bad things would happen.

Yeah, there's a website somewhere tracking and doxxing them all. Nearest one J6er is 45 minutes away, but I have a redhat around the corner.

If trump is counting:

1 for you, 1 for me

2 for you, 1 2 for me

3 for you, 1 2 3 for me

[–] TryingToBeGood@reddthat.com 6 points 6 days ago

So someone who's back in jail already could apply.

[–] tacoplease@lemmy.world 1 points 5 days ago

1775 for Trump , 1 for the rest of you.

Don't be fucking naive.
