isn't that illegal? They're going to have to change the law first--or just break it.
So I guess they're prepping for that hyper-inflation now. Can't wait for a cup of coffee to cost $75 and a month's rent to be $20,000. But hey, look on the bright side, I'm sure the stock market will look amazing breaking through all those all time records.
Speaking of, that would be an interesting exercise. They always talk about how various funds and stocks are up or down some percent over the previous day/week/year or whatever. It would be interesting to see that same data but adjusted for inflation. Like is the dow jones up 2% from last year or is it really down 0.5% due to inflation?
Average rent today is approximately 1750, it was about 175 in 1976. So if inflation continues at the same rate, in 50 years rent will be about 17.5k a month.
But the minimum wage will of course remain unchanged.
Untrue. They'll find some excuse to lower it. "See! Minimum wage increases make inflation go up! The ONLY way to fix it is to lower the minimum wage!"
I wish. They'll just look to abolish minimum wage entirely. "The free market will enforce a true minimum wage on its own without the need for pesky government interference. If you own your own business and you understand what you're employees' labor is worth, then you and you alone should be deciding what to pay your employees. If it's too low for them to accept, then they will go elsewhere, and somebody who is willing to work for you at that wage will fill the job."
They will proclaim that your protections are actually chains, and 1/3 of the country will cheer for the "chains" to be removed. Freedom! America! Yay fascism!
We just need a maximum wage on the books. Complete compensation package maximum

The reported push by Trump administration officials comes despite the 1866 Thayer Amendment, which makes it illegal to put the likeness of a living person on official U.S. currency, bonds or other financial notes. Additionally, current law limits U.S. currency to specific denominations and a $250 bill is not on that list.
But you can try to get the law changed.

At least "we can't take X off the $Y bill" is probably an argument effective on the stupids who want Trump on something. They'd probably only want FDR off the dime, and Trump would never want to be on something so small.
Isn’t that the NBC affiliate that’s partnered with a yacht rock radio station?
This sounds like a lot of money for toilet paper…
But who doesn't want to wipe his ass on the Drumpf?
Usable for a loaf of bread.
