To kick things off: morning tennis in a bikini, followed by some time in the pool. I’m having a blast with my summer fling at his place in the south of France.

Walking with my headphones, and reading.

I've had some trouble getting out of the house for a long while, but at night I can bring a little light and read outside for a bit after everyone else has gone inside and I don't feel so exposed and jumpy. It's chilly and plenty of bugs, but cozy and calm. A good final half hour to every day.

Roleplaying and writing my characters.

If I had money, then it'd be travel and scuba diving.

I left my countryside family home in Provence (with pool!) for a simpler life, with my wife, on a small volcanic island in the indian ocean. It was a real pickle, but I made the right choice. The mornings are typically spent swimming at a nearby beach. There's rarely anybody there, our only company is sea turtles coming to chomp on the seagrass or laying eggs in the sand. Afternoons, I look for freelance work, after I'm done with my applications I browse Lemmy and lament at the state of the world. I then have an edible and play some games, or go in the hills pick mangoes if it's the season.

Chess, and CB/ham radio mostly. I really enjoy yapping over CB radio and taking part in the WWE style drama that happens between big stations in the area. A lot of big personalities with powerful transmitters and colorful on-air handles.

Who do you usually end up talking to on the CB radio? I know nothing about it.

It's no pooltime in southern France or whatever, but i like birdwatching.

birdwatching is awesome

Sportstudio 5x a week.

Ohh one of those bragging questions.

[–] did_you_find_violets@lemmy.world 2 points 9 hours ago (1 children)

I don’t see how it’s bragging. Everyone has their own lives, so the answers are bound to vary. It’s 9 a.m. and I was just thinking about how much I enjoy doing this every morning, which got me wondering what other people are into these days.

I don't know if you're genuinely curious how you come across to people. Not saying you should not post like you do, I find you amusing and like a fresh breath of air compared to the rest of the crowd here. Anyway my take on it:

"morning tennis" ok.

" in a bikini" minor thirst trap.

"followed by some time in the pool" minor bragging. Most people don't have easy access to a pool to bother going every day.

"I’m having a blast with my summer fling at his place in the south of France" Major bragging. Imagine someone stuck at work, if it's raining they wish it was sunny like in south France and if it's sunny they wish they could be out in the sun like you. You will trigger a lot of envy with this, and you of any one of us know how much people love the deadly sins.

thank you for this, actually. i don't give my posts much thought, my style is stream of consciousness combined with yapping. fun analysis to read.🫶

[Not original commenter]

My general tip for these ask-type communities is to put your question and clarification in the post, and put your own answer in a comment.

This way it reads more as a genuine question and not one meant mostly to get their own answer posted.

It also makes it more likely to actually get others answers and not derail the thread, as people tend to respond to what is written in the post instead of giving their own answer if the poster answers it in the post.

So you can still yap away in the comments, and get answers that aren't just nitpicking your own answer.

Good luck, have fun!

But what about the toxicity of our city?

[–] OriginEnergySux@lemmy.world 6 points 8 hours ago

Probably some morning tennis in a bikini followed by some time in the pool, but thats only when im having a blast with my summer fling in the south of france

[–] _deleted_@aussie.zone 1 points 7 hours ago

Walking the dog. Sleeping.

Tennis in a bikini sounds like a nightmare to me. Why would you want to get overheated?

The court’s shaded and I play in the morning, so overheating isn’t really an issue. Then it’s straight into the pool afterward.

[–] EndlessNightmare@reddthat.com 1 points 8 hours ago

Wouldn't a bikini help prevent overheating? Sunburn, on the other hand...

[–] Shellofbiomatter@lemmus.org 1 points 9 hours ago* (last edited 9 hours ago)

Training in general, but specifically resistance training.

It's one of those things that heavily depends on me and minimally on just luck. I have to be honest towards myself, analyze my behavior, regulate it or overcome different aspects of day to day life and push myself. Seeing it paying off is rather good as well.

Oddly I've found lifting works kinda like mindfulness meditation. I have to focus on my body and on the moment, kinda like be present or the weight will crush or injur me.
