Are we expected to simply forget that he was in charge during the COVID-19 outbreak and seized medical equipment / PPE for resale, told people to inject bleach and take random drugs, and deliberately allowed the disease to spread in areas that vote blue?

Trump respects science as much as I respect him.

There are memes in right wing circles about "admitting that we were right all along," usually accompanied by a pretty smug look.

There are a significant number of people who just want to pretend that none of the deaths happened.

With exciting new fields like phrenology and race science!

if we only went backward to phrenology... can you imagine all the fatty puss filled beta shitbag regions we'd have suspected was "his problem" after dissection. I can't even imagine actual peanut butter and gravy just spewing out of his "area for well manners".

i certainly can't picture them examining his "morality tissue area" and finding like a worm with a cigarette in its mouth.

Who fucking knows but man that'd have been a good gig. Just scooping parts of bullshit right out.

Eat gravel and die you confused old shit

[–] Murse@slrpnk.net 5 points 1 month ago

confused

He's doing this shit on purpose. He isn't just blundering his way through a terrible presidency, he's intentionally damaging the US in every way he possibly can. This is way beyond just confusion.

He is a domestic enemy of the US and our constitution.

Trump can't usher in shit. Dude started a war with Iran and gas costs $4 a gallon. He's a complete failure, a pedophile, and a con. He won't usher in shit except a forever war and maybe the next great depression.

[–] Murse@slrpnk.net 7 points 1 month ago

Trump can't usher in shit.

To the contrary, that's the only thing he'll usher in.

What science? Climate change denial? Anti-vaxxing? Grift optimisation? How to evade the law by being rich? Tax evasion studies? How not to pay your contractors? Studies on adolescent sexuallity?

When the regime falls, an embarrassingly significant amount of funds will be needed to pull all that tacky gold crap off the walls.

And fix the reflecting pool.

And restore the east wing.

And fix the reflecting pool.

And thats just some of the physical things that Trump vandalized.

[–] WhatsHerBucket@lemmy.world 5 points 1 month ago

Ugh, and that eye-sore of a reflecting pool.

[–] Nouvellalia@lemmy.world 10 points 1 month ago

They mean "golden age" in the piss on it sense.

[–] AbidanYre@lemmy.world 9 points 1 month ago

How many of those problems and grievances were caused by him?

[–] blattrules@lemmy.world 9 points 1 month ago

Maybe this is meant to be taken a lot more literally and Trump is just going to force all science to be alchemy now? Because it’s definitely not going to be the common meaning of a “golden age” based on everything he’s been doing.

[–] PattyMcB@lemmy.world 8 points 1 month ago

...by leaving office

[–] inclementimmigrant@lemmy.world 8 points 1 month ago

Can't wait for the United States of America to become the world leader in ivermectin research.

[–] Bwaz@lemmy.world 7 points 1 month ago

Uh huh. Clorox cure for deadly disease. Vacuuming forests to prevent wildfires. Climate change is "a hoax". Just redefining what science is supposed to mean.

[–] adarza@lemmy.ca 6 points 1 month ago

as in he's gonna piss all over everything?

[–] FreshParsnip@lemmy.ca 6 points 1 month ago

He drove all the good scientists away

[–] JeeBaiChow@lemmy.world 6 points 1 month ago

Well, i mean yeah. China is taking the lead on several fronts these days.

[–] Someonelol@lemmy.dbzer0.com 5 points 1 month ago

The "let's nuke a hurricane" guy thinks he knows science? Hilarious.

[–] blimthepixie@lemmy.dbzer0.com 5 points 1 month ago

Bring back trepanning

[–] abbiistabbii@piefed.blahaj.zone 5 points 1 month ago

Trump's relationship to Science is that akin to a Flat Earther: "If it confirms what I believe, it's true, otherwise, it's not."

[–] DrPop@lemmy.world 4 points 1 month ago

Cuts all funding for science without any oversight, then claims that we will have a Golden Age.

[–] steveLeo@lemmy.zip 2 points 1 month ago

The “stable genius” brigade

[–] sbbq@lemmy.zip 2 points 1 month ago

Can, but absolutely won't

Just need the dark ages to really set in, then it's easy to usher in a golden age.
