Every now and then there's a news about these corporations crashing but after a week they are all back at their all time high. This sort of news doesn't seem to achieve nothing but give these corporation visibility and keep better news at bay.

He's gone! They're finished! It's over! We won! It's happening! They just make a title you want to read, same for someone who wants to read something against trans people.

It lets them shuffle numbers around on a spreasheet to invent new money. This isn't an oopsy.

[–] wewbull@feddit.uk 5 points 5 days ago

Not SpaceX so far. Down to half it's high point. It's only been a public stock 6(?) weeks. Seems to be averaging a few dollars negative each day with no apparent floor.

I would rather walk than buy a tesla

[–] benjirenji@slrpnk.net 10 points 6 days ago

Cars ruin cities in general.

There are a couple local teslas with the "I bought it before I knew how awful he is" stickers and like, okay, I can understand how that might happen. Still gonna judge you until there's some evidence you don't suck, but I'm willing to be forgiving on that one.

... However there's also a local cybertruck with that sticker, and buddy no nobody's buying it, stop trying to lie your way out of the consequences for your actions it just makes you look even worse. FWIW I've seen people throw rocks at the truck twice, so there's some hope for the future.

We've seen this before and the neo-Nazi bastard will cook the books to turn it around.

The stock is hovering at around $324 at the time of writing, down over 15 percent over the last five days and about 28 percent year to date.

That ain't free fall, it has a ways more to go

[–] SaveTheTuaHawk@lemmy.ca 2 points 4 days ago* (last edited 4 days ago)

It's a $20 stock. The only value in the company is the charging network.

Oof.

I sold my shares years ago, when Musk started to show his first signs of becoming radicalized. Looks like it was a pretty good call.

[–] TankovayaDiviziya@lemmy.world 13 points 6 days ago (5 children)

Unfortunately there are still some worshippers of his, even low key ones.

In two weeks when SPCX employees can sell, please let them cash out and resign as hard as possible. They're reasonable intelligent people who know the promises are science fantasy, so this is a plausible scenario. Then, as investors lose faith, Tesla enters true freefall right as fElon tries to leverage his shares to float SPCX. Let this Icarus of Grift come spiraling down so we never have to hear about him or his cultists again.

I predicted this after his reputation fully tanked when he went full MAGA/ DOGE. Every earnings report is going to depress the stock price more and more, until the floor just falls out, and it collapses.

Tesla is NEVER coming back. It will be bankrupt in 3 years.

Oof, 1 year of gains wiped out

[–] demizerone@lemmy.world 23 points 6 days ago (2 children)

Nobody wants to buy a car from a car company that only wants to build robots in the future.

[–] CADmonkey@lemmy.world 28 points 6 days ago (1 children)

I bought an EV recently, and Ive been asked a few times why I didn't get a Tesla. There's a wide range of reasons but the one that's the most fun to say is "I wanted a car made by a real car company".

Looking at short term with stocks is never the right thing to do. Stocks go up and down every day.

You should always look at 1Y and 5Y and as we see for Tesla, that's ..... oh.

Nevermind.

I can't imagine a situation where a humanoid robot would be a benefit to us in our 650sqft apartment. What would it even do? And the cost would be astronomical.

With reputation of Musk, who was recorded tripping in White House like a crack head, the company is certainly will not have any credibility or allocation in my portfolio because I would presume that their financial reporting is thoroughly cooked.

[–] Malyca@lemmy.zip 9 points 6 days ago

Overvalued garbage tends to do that
