on Sunday, Georgia Democratic Senator Jon Ossoff delivered a barn-burner of a speech, in which he ripped Preznit Fuckwit several new ones, for being the incompetent imbecile who lied our country into an unwinnable war against Iran, and for being the callous toad who is ignoring the plight of the five thousand sailors trapped aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln.

but all that was lost on the MAGAverse, because there were three words toward the end of Ossoff’s speech that caused every Republican to immediately shit a massive, white-hot brick and explode into paroxysms of performative outrage.

he wants to build his ballroom and travel with Natalie on their apparently defenseless flying palace gifted by the Emir of Qatar.”

that’s right, Jon Ossoff went there. he brought up the weird stalker-slash-diaper-nurse who is now Dear Leader’s constant companion.

once those three words — ‘travel with Natalie’ — escaped Ossoff’s lips, the entire Donnyverse clutched their pearls and collapsed onto their fainting couches.

oh my good, how dare Jon Ossoff say such a mean thing!

I’m looking straight at you, Tim Murtaugh.

oh dear, can someone get in here and see if they can revive Tim?

what on earth is Tim Murtaugh talking about? what ‘vulgar innuendo’? all Ossoff did was to accurately describe the situation. Diaper Nurse Natalie travels with Dear Leader. not a day goes by that the two of them aren’t photographed together. to point that out is not ‘innuendo.’

who even knew that Ari Fleischer was still a thing?

whoa, whoa, slow the fuck down there, Ari. show us on the doll where Ossoff accused Natalie of ‘behaving like that’.

like what?

it’s pretty weird how every Republican immediately interpreted ‘travel together’ to mean that Donny and Nattie are getting it on, isn’t it? this sounds like another one of those ‘every accusation is a confession’ things again, doesn’t it?

that’s because it is. Republicans have eyes. they can see what’s going on.

they know how bad this looks, President Pussygrabber swanning around with some blonde half his age, while his Slovenian green-card rent-a-wife is nowhere to be seen.

look, it’s not Jon Ossoff’s fault that Donny immediately falls for any woman who reminds him of the daughter he want to quote-unquote ‘date,’ if that’s what we’re charitably going to call it. this shit happens over and over. remember the Presidential Pants Steamer, Hope Hicks, who was right by his side throughout his first term?

Conservatives are dishonest. They don't care about truth or consistency. Their only value is in-group loyalty. They will say anything in pursuit of that and personal power.

“Never believe that anti-Semites are completely unaware of the absurdity of their replies. They know that their remarks are frivolous, open to challenge. But they are amusing themselves, for it is their adversary who is obliged to use words responsibly, since he believes in words. The anti-Semites have the right to play. They even like to play with discourse for, by giving ridiculous reasons, they discredit the seriousness of their interlocutors. They delight in acting in bad faith, since they seek not to persuade by sound argument but to intimidate and disconcert. If you press them too closely, they will abruptly fall silent, loftily indicating by some phrase that the time for argument is past.” ― Jean-Paul Sartre

Antisemitism as an ideology is totally strange, because it contains two conflicting believes: They think that jews are inferior, subhumans, less worth than other peoples. And at the same time they believe that those inferior subhuman jews are controlling the whole world, are guiding world politics, are controlling world finance and so on. That is not compatible, but still the core of the ideology

[–] Duamerthrax@lemmy.world 2 points 23 hours ago

The "Enemy" being both strong and weak is a core aspect of all fascists, whether it's directed at Jews or not.

It's so fucking good!

[–] Lodespawn@aussie.zone 1 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Oof if only Sartre could have seen what became of the people who complained about anti-Semites ..

[–] Duamerthrax@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Because the people who complain about anti-Semites that you are talking about are still anti-Semites. This is because the meanings of words do not matter to them.

[–] Lodespawn@aussie.zone 0 points 1 day ago (1 children)

It's not really possible for that to be true, they are Jewish themselves and will murder countless non Jewish people in the name of other Jewish people. The people who complain about anti-semites are Semites themselves, but also evil fucking fascists.

[–] Duamerthrax@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I'm more specifically talking about Zionistic Christians in Congress shedding Crocodile tears whenever someone criticizes Israel, but if we're talking about the Jewish Zionists, Jewish people are a subset of Semites, which includes the Palestinians. Engaging in genocide against Palestinians means they're anti-semites.

Also, Israel administered birthcontrol drugs to Ethiopian Jews without their consent or knowledge, which is a form of genocide.

I am in no way in support of those monsters and it's probably fair that the Christians in the conservative movements across the world fit Sartre's assessment particularly in that they claim antisemitism more as a way to shut down things without arguing the actual points. But as far as the Israeli government goes, who are by far the loudest people screeching about anti semitism and are most certainly Jews, they can't be anti semites. The dictionary disagrees with your assertion that you can be anti Semitic towards non Jewish Semites. The term is specific to Jewish people.

[–] Duamerthrax@lemmy.world 2 points 23 hours ago (1 children)

First example you gave has an interesting example. I don't even like Piker, but don't you think something that suppose to be an unbiased dictionary shouldn't be using a Piker-Maher dispute as an example?

[–] Lodespawn@aussie.zone 1 points 22 hours ago

I agree, but Meriam Webster is a well known dictionary. As per the disclaimer the examples are automatically generated from current current online sources. Seems odd they would choose fox news as a reasonable source but they don't seem to cite how they automatically generated those examples. Did it just run a google search and it pops up the first few listings or is it a bit more involved than that? It is suspicious that fox news is the top example.

What I always thought was gross since she popped up is the fact that he specifically got someone that looks just like his daughter to fulfill his sickest fantasies probably. Or she was smart enough to get another useful idiot for her dad and that she knew his dementia and syphilis hollowed out brain would never notice the difference.

This is still all part of the "what if we call him drumf" left who think words and reacts are important wins. In the past it's been called slacktivism, and isn't widely thought of as effective.

Certainly not as effective as treating the actual causes, which are primarily the under servicing and disillusionment of voters. A phenomena democrats have helped with over time.

It's only people like Mamdani, AOC, amd Bernie who have helped. There are ALOT of politicans and people in the "what if we call him drumf" for four years crowd.

A lot more than that has been needed and called for, for a lot longer.

This is still all part of the “what if we call him drumf” left who think words and reacts are important wins.

There's two sides to this coin. Celebrity gossip media that amounts to "look at these gross freaks being absolutely abhorrent" is a great tool to just harsh people's vibes on a person or party and make them unpleasant to support.

So, if you're trying to run up an opponent's negatives, this is great. Anyone paying attention just gets to hear about an old pussy-hound getting daiped up by some insane Facebook lady, and they'll hate that.

On the other hand... there's absolutely no policy here. There's nothing to support as an alternative. You could just as easily run this line of attack on Biden or Schumer or Sanders, give or take.

So, if they run a gross old degenerate and you run a gross old degenerate, all this kind of media does is drive up disgust with politics.

BUT if you've got some kind of positive alternative? Then you can run on that (like Mamdani did against Cuomo, for instance) and leave the grossness of the opposition to speak for itself

What is?

This article really. It reads like its written by an edgy college kid. "Gotcha" takes in politics haven't done shit to stop Trump before and won't really do anything now. He has 30+ felonies and still won the presidency, and thats after a first term that was bad enough that he didn't win a consecutive term and after a failed insurrection.

Hot takes and reputational attacks won't win the dems anything. Dems have failed to be the working class party for decades now and until they stop resisting the candidates who are actually running on policies that support the working class and start changing their tune to be closer to FDR rather than Clinton, they will continue to fail.

People want actual things to happen, things that actually impact them and improve their life, the kind of shit Mamdani is doing in NYC. We are tired of the slander battles and talk. Ossoffs comments only ignite political tension, it doesn't feed children or make housing affordable.

[–] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world 5 points 1 day ago

Ah. Not familiar with The Tiedrich, eh. Yeah, I can see it would read like that.

But that’s not why I like it. It’s not that “the Dems” are rallying around this style of criticism as a political tentpole or anything; it’s that he’s saying in exaggerated and often funny ways, “You’re not crazy. This obvious insanity is ridiculous. Don’t let the daily obscenities of this administration fool you for one second - these people are crooked, incompetent, evil, arrogant bastards who run a cult for profit and institutionalize cruelty out of ignorance and greed.”

I know that, you know that, we happy few here all know that, but I just like seeing it in print all laid out every so often. That’s all. It’s not a socio-political strategy, it’s a coping mechanism.

[–] Sharkticon@lemmy.zip 18 points 2 days ago (1 children)

You wish it was just conservatives. Apparently members of the media are saying it too. People who work at a network use reporters are being called piggy by the president are acting outraged as if this was an assault upon an innocent woman's dignity. Which is super suspicious to me because that means they knew something and just weren't reporting on it. Why else make that jump from the innocuous thing the senator said?

[–] Jesusaurus@lemmy.world 15 points 2 days ago

And who owns most of the media congolomorates in the US nd how are they politically aligned? Ah, right...

[–] NihilsineNefas@slrpnk.net 8 points 1 day ago

She's definitely the one putting so many drugs into him that they could bring back and keep Tutankhamen alive, right?

That or she's his handler tht keeps him aligned with [pick a nation currently invading their neighbours]/the international elite that have enough money to not be on the public list of 'the richest' because they can afford the countries, not just the media corps.

Anyone remember that story of the kid who supposedly kicked a broom handle? What was his name? It was around all the Epstein stuff,, which has unsurprisingly left the mainstream media
