Remake Phantasy Star Online please.
Omikron : The Nomad Soul 2
The idea of Star Citizen, but actually finished and without selling individual ships for real cash.
A game where you feed and pet and take care of guinea pigs. Varieties of vegetables and reactive chin scritches and they yell at you when they notice you going about your business. Also my guinea pig has to be in it you have to ruffle his fur or you will instantly die.
Possibly a setting in the Andes, I dunno it would be funny to be a guinea pig herder. Otherwise it just has to be comically over designed and marketed as competing with Death Stranding.
Over-budget motion captured acting with Nicholas Cage. He's a pig shepard named Armando Marìa-Castañeda. The publisher should go into debt and barely recover from all this.
Iracing without the subscription and an SR system that can be tuned to allow minor incidents without penalty, particularly if you lose time as a result and have had minimal impact on the other drivers
I love how half of you took this as a challenge to see what would be the most expensive project to cause game studios into bankruptcy 😂
History Is A Nightmare From Which I Am Trying To Awake: The James Joyce Experience.
An RPG that faithfully recreates the entirety of James Joyce's oeuvre, starting with Dubliners, then Portrait of an Artist as a Young Man, then Ulysses then Finnegan's Wake.
Imagine the minigames - can you jerk off on the beach and climax at the same time as a one legged girl?
Can you get the married woman drunk enough so she jumps in front of a train after you rebuff her advances?
How many sex workers can Stephen visit with his monetary prize from the Jesuit school?
Gripping stuff.
A game where you walk around an existing town and fix things. It teaches you real stuff about how the things you're fixing work. For instance, you can fix light switches and do so using examples of how real wiring works.
Torn between 2 game ideas:
a. It's a game for Luanti. The premise is that the Earth 1000 years from now is a wasteland of robots and toxic waste, after humans abandoned it centuries beforehand. You are sent there to investigate the planet, but things go wrong and your ship crash lands shortly after you awaken from your cryo-sleep. You run through quests in order to try and survive and fix everything. But along the way you find these weird animal crests that give you different abilities. It would be a challenging game as resources are purposefully scarce, unless you fight off the deadly robots for scraps or the dangerous mutant animals for food.
b. This one is a combination of Sonic Riders 1 and the trick system of the Skate series; if they had a baby this would be it. Set in a world of anthro animals. The story mode would be split into 2 different stories following 2 different 3 person teams. Team one consists of real chill people: 2 men and a woman in their mid-20s. They're missions would be centered around the trick system. The other team would consist of the leader of the other teams younger brother and his 2 teammates ( both women ). Younger brother is much more serious and consequently, his missions focus more on pure racing.
I already have a good idea for an ad for game b, too. So, the hover skateboard like things the people ride are called Steamboards ( since the first ones were steam powered ), just fir context. The ad starts with captain of team a riding his steam board across a desert like flat area. He ends up easily passing a driver in a red race kart wearing a red hat. Then he ends up stopping to quickly charge up his board, thinking out loud: "Wouldn't want to be that slow." Then a blue blur on what looks like a steamboard comes flying by. Captain shrugs at the camera and thinks out loud: "Can't be faster than everyone." Then hopes back onnhis board and the ad transitions to gameplay clips. All before showing the game title, in a very title screen way. Ad ends there.
I want a game that is just the dungeons and raids parts of WoW. No outside grinding. You just log in with your guild and smash your face against bosses together.
I think I saw a game like that. It was like an mmo but just normal multiplayer and the dungeons.
Was it called Fellowship? I’m keeping my eye on that, but it seems like it’s not exactly what I’m looking for. I think it’s only small group content and from what I’ve been told the fights are a lot of “avoid the bad stuff.” I really miss the kind of fights we had to strategize and optimize for. I might still try it anyway when it goes 1.0, but I’m really hoping for something a little different.
I would love to see a grand sci-fi game that's a mixture of Titanfall and mirror's edge.
You would have open world runner sections where your entire job is to run messages between agents on a city/station that is working hard to steer the war... and then you go and do big stompy robots combined arms, titalfall-esque fighting, just open world instead of the (rather great) map, point-to-point of the original.
Alternatively, just give me either a single player or MMO implementation of The Allbright System.
Whatever I choose, I would just like the engine to be released under GPL, and the assets under CC-3.0-BY-NC-SA so that it lives on, regardless of however well it does.
Super Mario Bros Z the videogame.
I mean the original is already using M&L RPG series assets and the story is actually pretty fleshed out despite eventually getting cancelled.
A hybrid of sorts between a 3D platformer (honestly any type of action game would work for the overall point but I envisioned it as a platformer) and a life sim. You play as a highschooler with some sort of powers (who I'm imagining is "neutral" on the good-evil axis) going through their senior year. The platformer levels come in not through some greater adventure but through smaller, mostly disconnected ones, some done as for-hire work and some triggered by choices and events within the life sim portion. The game would be on a calendar system rather than any form of linear progression, ending with graduation.
To give an example of how the life sim and action segments might affect each other: let's say there's an optional mission where you're hired to assassinate an influential politican. There's a character in school who's the daughter of this politician. If you don't take the mission you can be friends with this character. If you take the mission and do it normally, she is aggressive toward you and later it triggers a level where you have to defend yourself against her army of airships and fight her at the end. But if you take the mission but do it stealthily, she'll still be friends with you but be noticably depressed...and maybe there's some scenario where she'd find out, and, feeling betrayed, it'd trigger a harder version of her boss fight.
Obviously there'd be other life sim elements like relationship trees with dialogue choices including romantic ones, and more things to do within school/town (one idea I had was being able to get a job delivering pizzas...or running drugs,) and likely some minigames.
You see why this is untenable, right?
prostitute simulator
I've always wanted to play a game like "tropico" but instead of managing a parody of a banana republic, you have to manage the decline of a parody capitalist empire.
The next elders scrolls but with an engine that isn't 30 years of congealed tech debt. They also aren't allowed to ship it early with tons of bugs expecting the community to fix it all...
Probably impossible, but a combination of:
So basically a life simulator like The Sims, but you also build the city. And can transport goods and people. And build up military and fend off attacks or invade nearby countries.
It'll be a century before we have enough CPU to power a game of that scale, and you'd have to be able to like "zoom in" and "zoom out" to the levels of details. Creating thousands of houses at a Sims level would be stupid, so a lot of automation would have to happen. But being able to play the game at various levels from individuals to companies to cities to counties or states to countries would be wild.
Check out NiNoKuni 2 and Brutal Legend for cool genre mashup games. Conker's Bad Fur Day is another good genre mashup.
Tic tac toe battle royale
Fallout 5, please and thank you.
But, if it's my vision, with no compromise:
I'm sure there's more but that's off the top of my head.
A realistic* Pirate open world by Rockstar. Basically the best of Black Flag and RDR2 in one package.
*in the sense how RDR2 is realistic and how we imagine pirate life was. Not too theme park-y like Pirates of the Caribean but also not hardcore grim and ugly.
That would be sweet. I’m replaying rdr2 as we speak
Dungeon Keeper 3 Basically dk2 for the quality of life features, minus the bugs.
Dubbing, voices and acting like dk1.
Also not that mobile game BS, I'm talking mouse and keyboard (maybe VR? for the fps play ?).
Keep the trolls, chicken, mistress and bile demons etc, add a few more maybe like skavens, dark dwarves, slimes, fake chests...
Different kind of food, different kinds of habitat per creature, or group of creatures.
Keep the slapping of course.
"It's so good to be bad."
Gay-themed survival horror, and not the funny gay kind. We didn't get enough Signalis.
The timing of my suggestion sucks somewhat, but I've had this idea since playing RDR2 when it was still new: a trilogy of RDR2/GTA hybrid games based off the RDR2 map (potentially expanded into new areas in places).
First game set in late 1920s, streets have cars and horse and carts on them, all the fashion, music (jazz), radio shows, drugs, bootleggers, heavy/dangerous industry, advancements in shipping and flight; but modelled onto the exact RDR2 map including every building. Obviously some areas could be unrecognisable other than the road layout if the area had seen a lot of redevelopment since the turn of the century. The game would need to have GTA at it's core and make the 20's feel like the peak of modernity and wit, and not feel like a dingy pastiche of the era. It would need to have echoes of RDR2 through it given it's set not long after the RDR2 story finishes.
Next game set in the 1950s, same map/same ethos, but you take the 20's version of the map as the starting point so there's an evolution of the idea. You could even follow the main characters and businesses on from the 20's game. I think you'd need more map to play with for a 50's game as there are a lot of new industries to explore and find space to place on the map. With that being said, whatever space you think you would need for v2 or v3 of the trilogy, should be added to the 20's edition so you see the entire map expand through the three games rather than having new areas bolted on in later additions that don't have any history to them.
Last game set in mid/late 70's.
Well they are apparently starting rdr3. If the game is centered on Jack, you could get exactly that.
A really good horse game. In-depth breeding mechanics, beautiful graphics, fun gameplay with excellent and intuitive controls and an interesting non cliche story. I don't think there is a single horse game that checks all those marks
Just Grand Turismo 4 again
Old mechanics, new graphics
For me it would be a dungeon crawler in the style of Monomyth but with AAA graphics. Also, it would start with a massive intro sequence, like in Kingdom Come: Deliverance, when you've been playing for ages and then realise the game hasn't really even started yet. It would also have really emotionally engaging writing and cut scenes like in Eriksholm: The StolenDream.
The most important ingredient though, and I can't stress this enough, because so many games get this wrong in my opinion, is a world that doesn't appear to give a damn that I'm in it or need me to do anything. Monomyth nails this as does, I think, GTA5. Everyone's just living their lives and you are one tiny part of it, nothing more. I really hate games that feel like the Truman Show. I want to be able to hide in the world, to be unnoticed. Thief by Eidos gets this right too.
Also I want my dungeons to hint at light above through maybe cracks way up high in the rocks, like the caves and temples of Assassin's Creed Odyssey.
Finally I want the player to be able to choose whatever play style they want, without shaming them for making it easy or glorifying them for making it as hard as possible. I don't like games that tell me how to have fun and if a player finds a completely unexpected way to achieve something good. No sudden patch to nerf it. Just leave it.
Honestly, another fantasy game with the gameplay of Red Dead 2 and the beauty of a world like Skyim with multi-player enabled. I live for the story, so Dragon Age 1 was my jam and BG3 is right now, but I always wish I could be playing with my partner everytime im in a game like that and it isnt allowed. I was pissed when the Tales games dropped multi-player functionality!
