Mamdani could file charges against that audience member who threatened to shoot him. That was a terrorist threat. But good luck identifying a random person.

You'd think surveillance would be pretty thorough at any event the President is attending. Or have they learned nothing from previous assassination 'attempts'? No bulletproof glass, either. That precaution didn't last long.

But good luck identifying a random person.

If only there was infrastructure for identifying and tracking potential terrorists and criminals.

Nah, let's use it for identifying and tracking protesters or police officers' crushes.

Even if they were able to identify, the GOP would just cover up and protect that audience member.

And yet everytime I mention using perfectly legal means of exterminating conservative cockroaches, my comments are deleted by conservative cockroach mods. The infestation is now inside the house.

We have gone down hill a long way in this country since McCain told that woman she was wrong at the campaign town hall.

Jamille Bouie recently posted a short about the Ted Cruz moment and the conspicuous silence of the liberal media.

In the meantime, internet chatter between MAGAs are blood libeling liberals and calling for the hunting and execution of liberals, where, in this case, liberals include anyone who is not MAGA.

Almost every day i get the feelling the the US is inching closer to a civil war.

[–] FrostyTheDoo@lemmy.world 22 points 2 days ago (2 children)

The US is in a civil war that one side is sleepwalking through

Not true, they need a legitimate army and I doubt the dems would March. Plus that's weird. Pretty sure Tim waltz contemplated using his guards but decided against it.

They want a war so trump can put in war time laws. while there are a few pretty smart people on that side behind the scenes pulling the strings, the general populace has no idea how stupid this will be. Military factions, small militias, food shortages, water…

As soon as the ruling family harden their power, the roundups will begin.

One day Trump will be gone, but the millions of fascists he empowered will still be spreading their poison, committing acts of terrorism, and doing everything in their power to destroy secular democracy and equality wherever they can.

This is a cancer we will need to eliminate using only methods our current constitution doesn't allow. America needs a world class denazification. These monsters need to feel existential dread for ever externalizing their fascism, as a matter of law. Peace, prosperity and a civil society simply cannot exist with these people in it and free.

I wholeheartedly agree, but I don’t think this country is capable. You call out anyone for their hateful thetoric and you are accused of being the one who is out of line. Americans are so unbelievably afraid of any confrontation or pushback that we will defend the evil asshole’s right to be an evil asshole, but never their target.

MAGA mourning a shitbag neo-Nazi. However, they ignore the fact he wanted the Epstein Files released in full.

Of course. They're very good a selective outrage.

Any Democrat or leftist in a gun club could have told you this a decade ago. They literally want us dead. Never forget that they're monsters, even the loved ones that raised you.

[–] GreenKnight23@lemmy.world 16 points 2 days ago (3 children)

I disagree. they aren't monsters, they're human and that's worse.

Republicans: Call for mass violence, murder, etc

Republican Voters: RABID CHEERS

Democrat: vaguely quote what a republican says

Republican voters: Mass outrage and calls for retribution against the liberal hate agenda

Republicans assume that people to the left of them are helpless, because we don't attack them. Agency is not given to animals, because they can't fight back. Thus, our lives have no meaning to Republicans.

If we don't fight, the delusion of Republican supremacy will never break.

Pretty sure all you talking about guns and civil war are drastically overestimating MAGA. We just need to put out an AI video of Trump claiming drinking Drano makes you immortal or something and the problem will take care of itself.
