Feargus Urquhart (leader of Black Isle Studios* who made the first two, then founder and CEO of Obsidian, who made New Vegas) is a dual citizen of Scotland and the US who was born and raised in Scotland, so that's a strong "partly" in my book π
*which was in fact named after the Scottish peninsula where his family came from

Yeah, just being a bit cheeky. Was trying to think of exceptions to the rule while playing off the premise.
The "Japanese" example is an American movie about two robots in space yearning for each other and for mankind's return to Earth.
The "American" example is a British series with a recurring (albeit American coded) character who interacts with aliens and engages in a good bit of polyamory.
The "French" example is a Japanese series about a horny bounty hunting crew exploring a galaxy full of breasts.
And the "British" example is probably the most reaching since it's more realistic fiction than sci-fi, but it's a newer French movie about a nuclear attack that the US is culpable of escalating.
Had me in the first half.
