"and Germany (now in one piece!)"

Goddamn...

[โ€“] davidgro@lemmy.world 4 points 2 days ago

Happened 3 years before this episode.

[โ€“] Enkrod@feddit.org 7 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago) (1 children)

What... what shape is Germany on that map?! And does Switzerland have a... a coastline on the adriatic sea?

[โ€“] cypherpunks@lemmy.ml 6 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago) (1 children)

Seems a bit disingenuous to include information that changed after the episode aired along with actual mistakes.

It's most likely a bait tik tok for the first one. But the best British food has to be chicken tikka masala

[โ€“] remon@ani.social 9 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Take a list of all the countries, remove the UK. Now you have a complete list!

[โ€“] GalacticGrapefruit@lemmy.world 15 points 2 days ago (1 children)

My esteemed fellow, that was, in fact, the meme.

Tf is she holding. Cream cheese and bananna on dry white bread?

[โ€“] Akip@piefed.world 21 points 3 days ago (2 children)

looked like gnocci to me lol. Banana makes more sense.

[โ€“] skeezix@lemmy.world 14 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago) (1 children)

Itโ€™s England. So that is rat dropping crumpets on hardened mulch loaf slathered with an aged goat sperm relish.

[โ€“] ThisOne@lemmy.world 4 points 3 days ago

Ah thanks. I see it now. How could I have missed it.

[โ€“] ThisOne@lemmy.world 7 points 3 days ago (1 children)

I stared at it for 3 replays. Gnocci is a good guess but make no sense on bread.

I'm not convinced on bananas.

[โ€“] Banrik@fedia.io 14 points 3 days ago (5 children)

Quavers, which is a cheesy brand of British crisps. Am British so ask away if you're confused about anything else

[โ€“] wildncrazyguy138@fedia.io 9 points 3 days ago (4 children)

When a new speaker of the house is selected, why must their first act be to physically feign terror and be dragged to the front of the house of commons by their colleagues?

[โ€“] Banrik@fedia.io 6 points 2 days ago

Stupid traditions mainly, answer for like 70% of things

[โ€“] ohulancutash@feddit.uk 2 points 2 days ago

Because the Speaker ultimately gatekeeps what is debated, and many Soeakers lost their heads when Kings decided the Commons was getting a bit too full of itself.

[โ€“] stsquad@lemmy.ml 2 points 2 days ago

It's a nod to history and the speaker who had to defy the king.

What is the process to choose annual sacrifices for the royal family?

[โ€“] Banrik@fedia.io 4 points 2 days ago

Depends which one, they're like a pantheon with their own prefered flavours.

[โ€“] ThisOne@lemmy.world 2 points 2 days ago

Okay and crisps are potatos yes? And the white stuff is actually cream cheese?

[โ€“] lazynooblet@lazysoci.al 2 points 2 days ago

I don't think it's quavers. More like space raiders

[โ€“] FluidBeef@quokk.au 2 points 2 days ago

Quavers are banging! Dunno if Iโ€™d make a sandwich of them though.

[โ€“] Banrik@fedia.io 7 points 3 days ago (2 children)

It's quavers, a British brand of crisps. This post is just engagement bait lol

[โ€“] Evildave@lemmy.world 5 points 2 days ago (1 children)

The crisps are Space Raiders

[โ€“] homik@slrpnk.net 1 points 1 day ago

Ah, these are the salted yellow Styrofoam type. There's a few brands here, too.

[โ€“] ThisOne@lemmy.world 3 points 2 days ago

Well it got me. So potatoes and cream cheese on white bread is what's happening?

[โ€“] Beacon@fedia.io 4 points 3 days ago (2 children)

It's not banana slices, when she presses it down they maintain their curved shape and it makes a crunching noise

Iโ€™m a fan of the sausages their people used to sell at Costco.

[โ€“] bampop@lemmy.world 6 points 2 days ago

Name me a country

[โ€“] Mantzy81@aussie.zone 8 points 2 days ago (1 children)

This lady always trolls with terrible English food. But as an ex-pome, I am also quite intrigued by her Philadelphia and quaver sandwich. It probably tastes alright in a "why am I eating this abomination and how is it actually good?" like many British food choices.

[โ€“] Banrik@fedia.io 2 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Well the "why am I eating this answer" for this would be: I am very poor and only have this, if I had to est it. There's plenty of great tasting British food but the only times I've ever had a crisp sandwich is because I had no money & spare bread & crisps.

[โ€“] ohulancutash@feddit.uk 2 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

Ah no, there are times you just want the grease and salt without getting messy fingers. Perfect for a snack while reading. Much like the chip sandwich.

[โ€“] ChicoSuave@lemmy.world 8 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Mayo and funion (crisps) sandwich. British cuisine is frat pantry food

[โ€“] Banrik@fedia.io 3 points 2 days ago

Wot tha hek is a funion m8? Them quavers

[โ€“] Zahille7@lemmy.world 7 points 3 days ago

Would've been easier to say "everyone"

It'd probably be a shorter list if you name the countries with worse food.
