This is what hurts me so much as a Jew. Seeing so many of my fellows following in the footsteps of the people who killed our ancestors.

There's a thing on BBC news right now of IDF soldiers stripping, binding and blindfolding prisoners. Seemed eerily familiar

[–] girlfreddy@lemmy.ca 10 points 7 months ago

Here's the link to that story.

*** The videos are very graphic.

That is just heartbreaking.

...and with a complete lack of self-awareness:

In November 2023, the Anti-Defamation League classified protest events led by groups including Jewish Voice for Peace and IfNotNow as "anti-Israel", adding the protests to a database documenting rising antisemitism in the US. ADL CEO Jonathan Greenblatt labelled the organizations "hate groups".

As a Palestinian, I can tell you that we honestly have nothing against Judaism, and I commend you wholeheartedly for being a Jewish person who sees what is currently happening as wrong.

There are members of many Palestinian communities that are of Jewish faith, and we all get along without issue.

It's Zionism that we have a problem with. :/

Thank you. We are all humans. I wish some people would see it that way. I hope you and your family make it through this horror.

Ever notice how every time someone identifies as Palestinian they apologize to all of Judaism so maybe their point will get heard? Fuck Israel and their supporters for making that happen.

Yes!! How they think it's okay, the cognitive dissonance, is mind boggling and infuriating. I'm left with impotent rage and disappointment and disgust, which combines into desolation.

Oof this is going to be another Rwandan genocide where the world watches and does nothing, isn't it?

Feels really bad to be a citizen of a country pumping money into the conflict but having no agency to change it.

If there's ever another Sept. 11 and someone (once again) asks "Why do they hate us?", they need to be slapped upside the head.

[–] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 38 points 7 months ago

I mean... even if they didn't, isn't it clear that's what they think regardless?

[–] jordanlund@lemmy.world 18 points 7 months ago (1 children)

What's more stunning? That they did it or that they actually admitted to it?

[–] FuglyDuck@lemmy.world 24 points 7 months ago (1 children)

They didn’t admit it- they bragged about it

[–] MrSpArkle@lemmy.ca 4 points 7 months ago

I don’t see much of a bragging tone. They fired someone over it. Even if it’s an empty gesture, it is far from bragging.

[–] VelvetStorm@lemmy.world 10 points 7 months ago

Total shocker that they don't respect human life just like the nazis

So what? If all you can do is look? (And weep)

Telegram is the worst. I'm surprised Google and Apple allow it to be in their app stores.

[–] Dark_Arc@social.packetloss.gg 2 points 7 months ago

It's a fine app. That article is pretty unjustly biased against it acting as if there are no rules. There are... https://telegram.org/tos

Also the app doesn't promote anything, for those social channels you have to explicitly seek them out or be referred into them in the first place.
