Comic Strips is a community for those who love comic stories.

Rules
  1. πŸ˜‡ Be Nice!

    • Treat others with respect and dignity. Friendly banter is okay, as long as it is mutual; keyword: friendly.
  2. 🏘️ Community Standards

    • Comics should be a full story, from start to finish, in one post.
    • Posts should be safe and enjoyable by the majority of community members, both here on lemmy.world and other instances.
    • Any comic that would qualify as raunchy, lewd, or otherwise draw unwanted attention by nosy coworkers, spouses, or family members should be tagged as NSFW.
    • Moderators have final say on what and what does not qualify as appropriate. Use common sense, and if need be, err on the side of caution.
  3. 🧬 Keep it Real

    • Comics should be made and posted by real human beans, not by automated means like bots or AI. This is not the community for that sort of thing.
  4. πŸ“½οΈ Credit Where Credit is Due

    • Comics should include the original attribution to the artist(s) involved, and be unmodified. Bonus points if you include a link back to their website. When in doubt, use a reverse image search to try to find the original version. Repeat offenders will have their posts removed, be temporarily banned from posting, or if all else fails, be permanently banned from posting.
    • Attributions include, but are not limited to, watermarks, links, or other text or imagery that artists add to their comics to use for identification purposes. If you find a comic without any such markings, it would be a good idea to see if you can find an original version. If one cannot be found, say so and ask the community for help!
  5. πŸ“‹ Post Formatting

    • Post an image, gallery, or link to a specific comic hosted on another site; e.g., the author's website.
    • Meta posts about the community should be tagged with [Meta] either at the beginning or the end of the post title.
    • When linking to a comic hosted on another site, ensure the link is to the comic itself and not just to the website; e.g.,
      βœ… Correct: https://xkcd.com/386/
      ❌ Incorrect: https://xkcd.com/
  6. πŸ“¬ Post Frequency/SPAM

    • Each user (regardless of instance) may post up to five (5 πŸ–) comics a day. This can be any combination of personal comics you have written yourself, or other author's comics. Any comics exceeding five (5 πŸ–) will be removed.
  7. πŸ΄β€β˜ οΈ Internationalization (i18n)

    • Non-English posts are welcome. Please tag the post title with the original language, and include an English translation in the body of the post; e.g.,
      SΓ, por favor [Spanish/EspaΓ±ol]
  8. 🍿 Moderation

    • We are human, just like most everybody else on Lemmy. If you feel a moderation decision was made in error, you are welcome to reach out to anybody on the moderation team for clarification. Keep in mind that moderation decisions may be final.
    • When reporting posts and/or comments, quote which rule is being broken, and why you feel it broke the rules.
Banned Artists

The following artists are banned from the community.

  1. Jago
  2. Stonetoss
  3. GPrime85

It should be noted that when you make reports, it is your responsibility to provide rational reasoning why something should be removed. Saying it simply breaks community rules is not always good enough.

Web Accessibility

Note: This is not a rule, but a helpful suggestion.

When posting images, you should strive to add alt-text for screen readers to use to describe the image you're posting:

Another helpful thing to do is to provide a transcription of the text in your images, as well as brief descriptions of what's going on. (example)

My lactose intolerance is giving me tummy aches just looking at this.

[–] AwesomeLowlander@sh.itjust.works 10 points 13 hours ago (1 children)

Wouldn't it become 99% milk the moment it touches his saliva?

[–] psycholocomotor_no2@lemmy.blahaj.zone 18 points 11 hours ago (1 children)

No, that's the problem with making 100% milk that he solved: the milk transforms any liquid it touches into more 100% percent milk, so it is truly 100%.

Also what happens when milk gets old.

[–] nullspace@lemmy.world 4 points 10 hours ago

Would colostrum be 200% milk?

[–] DaddleDew@lemmy.world 60 points 18 hours ago (5 children)
[–] blackbelt352@lemmy.world 3 points 1 hour ago

Basically, id imagine it would just be like regular butter, no water and all the milk solids that would normally be in the buttermilk

[–] ieGod@lemmy.zip 1 points 3 hours ago

It would, yes.

[–] abysmalpoptart@lemmy.world 37 points 16 hours ago

He's pretty clearly drinking 100% milk

[–] bus_factor@lemmy.world 22 points 18 hours ago

Yeah, he's drinking butter.

[–] Brkdncr@lemmy.world 12 points 18 hours ago (1 children)
[–] Reverendender@sh.itjust.works 24 points 17 hours ago

Not with that attitude

[–] Rachelhazideas@lemmy.world 26 points 16 hours ago (2 children)

This exists. It's called ghee.

What about condensed milk?

[–] abysmalpoptart@lemmy.world 32 points 16 hours ago* (last edited 16 hours ago) (1 children)

Ghee? As in ghee butter? That doesn't sound like mad-scientist-developed 100% milk to me.

Checkmate. Glad we clarified that

[–] OwOarchist@pawb.social 13 points 15 hours ago (1 children)

The percentage listed on milk is the percentage of fat.

100% would be 100% fat -- which is basically butter.

[–] abysmalpoptart@lemmy.world 3 points 8 hours ago

The comic itself is making a play on words, and I am playing along with that play on words. I thought it was clear enough to declare the mad scientist thing.

[–] chemical_cutthroat@lemmy.world 37 points 17 hours ago (4 children)

I don't know what the big deal is. Just take 50 pints of 2% and mix them together.

[–] iamthetot@piefed.ca 13 points 14 hours ago (1 children)
[–] OpenStars@discuss.online 1 points 1 hour ago

Is that anything like Neanderthals, or is this more of a Denisova situation?

[–] tetris11@feddit.uk 14 points 15 hours ago (1 children)

50 pints of 2% milk is the same as 2 pints of 50% milk by the power of percentage equivalence

So to get to 100% milk, we need 100 pints of 1% milk

[–] _stranger_@lemmy.world 1 points 49 minutes ago

Someone should tell Nile Red there's absolutely no way he'd be able to condense 100 pints of 1% milk into a single pint of 100% milk.

[–] MajorMajormajormajor@lemmy.ca 9 points 17 hours ago (1 children)

Yeah, right! You just want us to become one of those math problem characters.

Chemical_cutthroat wants 50 pints of milk, but milk only comes in 4 Litre jugs. How many jugs must they buy to make 100% milk?

I'm gonna keep it a buck, I'm bad with math and I love milk, so really whatever you show up with is gonna get a passing grade.

[–] abysmalpoptart@lemmy.world 4 points 16 hours ago

The math checks out, but I'm not certain if the milk science checks out

[–] rapchee@lemmy.world 40 points 18 hours ago (6 children)

do people really think it's % of milk? it's fat

[–] JackbyDev@programming.dev 6 points 8 hours ago (1 children)
[–] rapchee@lemmy.world 1 points 8 hours ago

i'm not your goober, doofus >:[

[–] Nora@lemmy.dbzer0.com 26 points 17 hours ago (1 children)

um aksully, when the milk is fat it's called HEAVY cream to emphasize how overweight it is. 2% milk is called 2% milk because it's 2% of the milk. The farmers are scamming you out of 98% of your milk. Whole milk is also a scam. You'd think it's 100% milk, but nope. When they filter 100% milk into 2% milk, whatever leftover doesn't go into the 2% hole becomes "Whole" milk. 1% milk is a rounding error from this system, and don't even get me started on skim milk. They don't even have milk in that milk.

For internet sarcasm reasons, this is a joke.

[–] SkyezOpen@lemmy.world 7 points 12 hours ago (1 children)

Oh fuck I thought it was "hole milk."

[–] OpenStars@discuss.online 1 points 2 hours ago

You wish!

And don't even get me started on hoe milk.

[–] Maven@lemmy.zip 12 points 17 hours ago (2 children)

No but its funny to pretend otherwise

That's exactly what my archenemy would say. Now prepare to meet your end

[–] rapchee@lemmy.world 4 points 11 hours ago

understandable, have great day

[–] Reverendender@sh.itjust.works 6 points 17 hours ago (1 children)

People think a LOT of things

[–] johsny@lemmy.world 4 points 12 hours ago (1 children)

I think my grandpa sticks his dick in the milk when nobody is home.

[–] OpenStars@discuss.online 2 points 1 hour ago

No way!

He does it when people are asleep, but technically they are present.

[–] slazer2au@lemmy.world 6 points 17 hours ago* (last edited 17 hours ago)

I'm allergic so I have no clue what the percentage is in relation to. Could be the chance of following our former prime minister and shitting myself in a maccas.

[–] abysmalpoptart@lemmy.world 4 points 16 hours ago

The scientist has created 100% milk. No ambiguity, just milk

[–] nialv7@lemmy.world 7 points 18 hours ago (5 children)

would that give me super powers?

[–] moshankey@lemmy.world 21 points 18 hours ago

Pure milk fat? Your super power will be explosive bowel movements.

[–] rockerface@lemmy.cafe 8 points 17 hours ago (1 children)

Your bones will be indestructible. The rest of your body might be too frail to bear such power, though.

[–] Admetus@sopuli.xyz 2 points 10 hours ago

So it'll turn each and everyone into Bruce Willises

[–] davidgro@lemmy.world 4 points 16 hours ago* (last edited 16 hours ago)

Obviously: it's made him bulletproof. Who knows what other powers he'll have when he finishes chugging

[–] OwOarchist@pawb.social 2 points 15 hours ago

Either that or diabetes.

[–] dance_ninja@lemmy.world 3 points 16 hours ago

Dio "reject my humanity" vibes.
