YSK that Gerrymandering allows politicians to determine election outcomes by changing electoral maps. In most western countries, it's illegal. Gerrymandering is common in the United States in c/politics@lemmy.world

Where do we draw the line?

What are your family's view on crime? How would they react if, hypothetically, they find out that you committed a crime? (I mean like: Are they gonna scold you? Report you to law enforcement?) in c/asklemmy@lemmy.world

It would depend on the size of the crime. If it were harmless to others like doing illegal drugs, they'd disapprove but they probably wouldn't turn me in. If I killed someone, they'd probably turn me in.

I have an aunt who was convinced Obama would declare martial law to stay president. She's also a covid denier. She also has no internal consistency and would probably deny saying Obama would declare martial law, just like she denies repeatedly saying the world would end in 2012

How is kindness a bad thing? I thought that was universally agreed to be a good message to have in a piece of media. I guess the excuse is they don't want media to have messages at all but like, how would you even have a movie where the hero has no values that they stand for?
