Most people don't have much insight into politics in general, but for a specifically leftist sub the use of such term would seem fine imo since you could expect people to understand the difference. But a better, more precise term would be better.

I think it has more to do with communist parties in rule than actually saying they've achieved communism. A leftist community understands the difference so doesn't seem like a big deal to me
