Maybe it's just reflective of the mood of the country

I'm biased because I wrote a backend framework for it, but it's really good on the backend and even just a general scripting language

I love dart, keep up the good work

We need to send them some spirographs or at least start an ad campaign

All people want to do is lecture you and have you tell them they are right

If everyone had razors, we could end razor attacks overnight

I'll admit I've drifted off Lemmy the last month or so.. content was a bit repetitive and felt like just an echo chamber of the same ideas. I didn't go back to Reddit, Reddit lost me to tiktok it turns out.

Jumped back on now and so many more posts have inspired me to comment. I'm a comment contributor generally but I wasn't feeling it.

Anyway.. just wanted to pop in and say I'm really enjoying it. Not that I was ever going anywhere but this is a great trajectory

You make money for someone else in exchange for the safety of a consistent paycheck. Its like the old feudal system, in theory you are being protected in exchange for your labour.

Of course in practise you are at the mercy of the company, and in the feudal system the protection you were afforded meant you needed to pay for your own armour and fight to the death to protect your owner.

I'm still waiting on porn to pull the rug and take away my good times

It's a real shame the eu is doing this. I've agreed with most of their policies recently regarding IT and phones.

I don't agree with that stupid cookie shit though.

I just felt that there was a lone voice of reason trying for a better future but I guess we are on our own.

Late stage enshitification

I was running an it services business at the time, so got to see a broad number of machines and peoples complaints.

I think the massive jump in ram required was a huge problem, it went from most people having 128mb to 256mb, to a minimum of 512, but a reality of 2gb required.

Plus the indexer was relentless and just smashed HDDs.

Drivers were a problem too but people understood they would need to be have upgrades for their fancy new system.

Then xp to vista happened and it looked pretty but was unusable. Then 7 came out and it solved all the BS and was a relief. Then 8 came out and it looked pretty but was unusable. Nobody is quite sure what happened with 9 but 10 was ok I guess, better than 8. Then I started using Linux because I was sick of the bullshit.
