Looks like it’s been stressed from either being set too tight for your head or from you always taking it off by just pulling on that sides cup. Or even just a fault in the material or batch of parts. Either way, something created an outward stress that broke the part in its way.

Ask beyer for warranty coverage. Also replacement parts are plenty and easily installed, should they say no
