Bro, I'll tell you the same thing I was told as a young guy in my career. I'm in my 40's now and this was about 20 years ago. An older guy about to retire said something like 'ya know, everyone always says that the younger generation is lazy, or dumb, but from what I noticed you guys are doing it smarter and you'll be better than us.' I kinda thought that, but it was nice to hear.

Now I'll say about 10 years ago, I was recruiting in high school and those kids were leaps and bounds ahead of where my generation was. It was crazy how much they could socialize across cliques and it not matter. Now that I am in my 40's I have some family members in high school, and I just see them being better. I don't know how this will translate into the work force or a fight for a labor reform, but I think we need to be more open to their ideas than our elder generations were to us.

Those YT "in video ads" on Internet Comment Etiquette is about as high quality as you can make it. I wouldn't want to skip Erik selling Nord VPN, Raycon, Nobleberry, or anything else he wants to make an ad for.

Is that 24 hours thing something your read somewhere or are you assuming because of the Hollywood idea of waiting 24 hours to report someone missing?

I ask because I don't know. It seems silly if I can "kidnap" someone for 23 hours but because I returned them before 24 hours hit then charge don't apply.

I am assuming they are adding multiple trips a day. My old bus dropped off elementary, middle, and high school. Some drivers even did after school drop offs. I doubt they mean 2600 buses moving 7 million people in 1 trip.

My guess: they are making sure their corporate buddies have the logistics and support in place to corner the market and price out small businesses owners.

I would add that How to Become A Tyrant on Netflix, host by Dinglage. Each episode dives in a different dictator and I found it interesting.

If you have many hours then Behind the Bastards podcast is dense with info.

It's a meme or maybe comic that's referenced like one.

Loss is a 4 panel comic of (1) guy going to a hospital, (2) asking someone at desk for directions, (3) talking to doctor about their loved one, and (4) mourning over said love one lying in bed.

Depends. Is there a cold front coming through Texas that will freeze the pipes?

I like the TV show fleshing out the squid thing more. I think the movie ending was fine for the time though.

I remember recommending the movie to people and being told "you should have warned me there was blue penis" by one person. And then he went on to say "blue penis" at random times when he saw me. I don't know how he would have reacted if there was a giant alien psychic squid attack

Usually, not saying I know this is what is happening, but usually the military waits for civilian courts to charge and find them guilty or not.

Then the military can either Court Martial them on different charges (to prevent double jeopardy), or NJP depending on the crime. I would assume this would be a Court Martial offense.

Not an expert just a guess for my time on active duty.

That's interesting. Marine here and once when I was deployed and writing up "significant event" reports for briefs, the Watch Officer never wanted to say 0000. He thought it would be too confusing when looking back and trying to figure which day it actually was. Is 0000 on 20231023 Monday at midnight or Sunday at midnight? He had us use either 2359 or 0001 and the date to clarify. 0000 didn't exist for him, but it might have just been his own personal pet peeve.
