I like it, particularly the case. Markers and hands should be a bit larger so they're in proportion with the chunky case

I had a Seiko TurtleSRP777K something and had an English/Arabic day.

Depending on their designation, like J, K, etc in the end, it denotes a watch's region. Some are Japanese Domestic (JDM), some are classified as an Asian model, worldwide model, European model, and so on.

I'm assuming that batches of it were designated for the middle eastern market and that's what you got

It is! I was considering getting the VHP a long time ago. Seeing it in person, it made it look like a bowl or pot lol

Thank you! I like Grand Seiko, especially their hi beat stuff.

But SD models are comically thick. I hope to live to see the day GS makes a 9mm thick SD with a date. With a DOMED crystal.

It does lmao! Like, "What? You need all those numbers and fat hands just to tell the time? Time to take off the training wheels there, sport!"

Downvote?! More like upvote!

That piece of art is part timepiece, part conversation piece and waaay more functional and than a Rolex 😎 Accurate AF too

Reminds me a little bit of the Jurassic Park raptor eye watches when I was a kid

I wish it wasn't so thick (13.3mm) but the design is elegant and highlights the main attraction: THE MOOOOOOOON

Any particular styles or designs that you like? Do you like quartz (battery operated) or mechanical? (Spring and gears that can last for decades but less accurate and expensive to service.

I was going to suggest the Mercie field watches and Le Grandpa, Bulova Aerojet, and a Seiko SUR309 for quartz. The Citizen eco drives also have a wide assortment of styles!

For mechanical, same thing with Mercie field watches, most of Seagulls's dress variety, Seiko Cocktail, Orient Bambinos, and Tissot LeLocle.

A lot of brands have that issue with people, sadly.

Aside from little to no marketing, what else do they have outside of the Chronomaster? Shoot, even watch enthusiasts sort of glaze over everything they have. The Elite? Boring (I love em tho!) Defy? 70s recycled design.

Second, their designs probably dont captivate people. This is a guess and my bias showing because I only really like 5 models in total.

Last, when it comes to Luxury, people like brand recognition! Some of their models compete with Rolex and Omega at MSRP. You can hype with a Cartier or even Brietling as well, which also are recognizable in a way.

Nowadays? About $500 including tax and shipping. Max limit is $1000 unless it's a really cool watch with a nice design, history, or artistic merit.

Anything past 1000, even in today's market, has noticeable diminishing returns. But that's just my experience though! Some of the Oris Arterlier and Nomos watches didn't look that much better than my Stowas or Mido for double or triple the cost. Even some of the finishing on Longines was a bit disappointing in the end.
