Thank you.
So what's the difference between a compositor, a window manager and a desktop environment? I'm still a bit confused about the whole thing.
Linux has a huge market share in servers. Most phones use a derivative of Linux. A lot of embedded systems run Linux. The desktop PC is basically the only niche where Linux doesn't dominate.
Those are people who know how to evade data collection. We count those as ours.
Steam boxes aren't really a thing. The Steam Deck is not really used as a desktop PC a lot. So, no.
Have you considered installing Arch?
Exactly. I don't give a fuck about Reddit any more. I'd rather be in a niche community with (some) quality content than on some huge site with mainly reposts. We're not in competition with Reddit. Were trying to be a better alternative.
If you don't use Linux From Scratch, why do you even bother?
I've been using Mint without any issues for a while now. I only play Steam games, though.
With Synaptic, you can show all files associated with a package. That includes config files. Saved me a lot of hassle on numerous occasions.
You could look at the package that's mentioned in the first line in Synaptic. The error message says it can't find a file. Fürst thing is do is check if that fike is actually there.
