I've listened to some newer K240s (mid 00s?), and I agree. They were great on tubes as well.

I live in the rural midwestern US.
Home theater and car stuff is pretty accessible here, but for headphones specifically, the closest I've found is in Chicago... which is a 7-hour drive away.

They're always comfortable, and I can always fall back on their tuning, no matter what I'm doing. Just a perfectly pleasant pair of headphones that I can use for pretty much everything.
If I could only keep one pair of open backs, it would be them.
I adore the 58X. Easily my favorite of the 600s.
They're such an easy headphone to live with. Super light and comfy, easy to drive, lots of fun.
