Nope, it’s more like buy the homage because you cannot afford the real deal i.e get the Maen Manhattan for $800 because you can’t swing $75k for a vintage Vacheron 2215 (and probably will never find one) so in a way the homage is OK.

Lug to lug and shape of wrist makes a difference. Also it doesn’t matter what others think. I can wear my nightstand alarm clock on my wrist and even though it is clownish it’s my choice lol

My Casio F-91W is a real watch. I'm with you on this one.
They churn out a lot of crappy stuff that the entire world buys, but they are capable of making very high end watches (many god tier luxury brands source items/parts from China ) . If you want to see a good example of quality check out Atelier Wen .
It's a self fulfilling cycle , ppl get tired of their awesome watches and sell them on the gray market for other enthusiasts to enjoy who then die and relatives go on Reddit to ask if they are worth anything.
