Facebook groups. I use them exclusively in SEA and pay whatever I want for rent. I haven't used airBnB in years. There is never a shortage and accommodation are dirt cheap.

Just don't use airBnB and that price tag will be cut in half.
They're all the same 'how to live dirt cheap in x 'top 10 places to go in the most tourist driven part of x city' insert surprised Pikachu face at 'you won't guess what we ate this night market!'
Just scraping the algorithm for likes and subscribes.
Between all the youtubers and onlyfans and influencers it's just content being created from some form of asshole.

I usually get the dissertation of Ameican politics as seen through the lens of other countries which is basically a summary of how stupid we are for Trump OR I get the nationalistic older eastern European guys who want to give me a dissertation on every conspiracy related to American politics which ends with some world order Trump is fighting the good fight baloney.
