You are right, but having scary navy ships involved is definitely a step in the right direction. Some might say this is even better than 'real' protection since this a very pacifist way of using the military.

A relief to learn about this, really great.
Europe needs to rearm itself and should not buy from non-allied states and neither from authocratic governments. We should not only stop buying weapons from China, but also US, Israel and Turkey (at least as long as Erdogan is in power). We need to put our money in strengthening our own weapon industry and that of countries we either pledged protection to or allied ourselves to. In this light I'm really happy we are increasing purchases from Taiwan and Ukraine. Hopefully we will also continue doing business with South-Korea and Japan because Taiwain is hopelessly lost without the help of those two countries.

For me personally there being a pro-israeli contestant isn't enough to boycott or ban them from participating. I can see how for some people the large israeli sponsors might be enough to boycott or ban them. But for me what really does it is the political effort to gather votes for the israeli candidate - they've put out ads to get people to vote for israel, especially targeting people who normally wouldn't watch it. There is plenty of social media posts of people saying they voted for israel 20 times and not having seen a single thing except maybe a performance on youtube. Manipulating the vote is a gross violation of the rules and Israel should be punished for that.

I don't know many straight guys who actually think that, yet it do know multiple gay men who are low-key misogynists and really glad they're not into women. I feel like "Not Gay Name" is a younger version of a gay man i know, who almost got married to a woman who eventually found out he was cheating just not with girls.
Is there a pool going on whether "Not Gay Name" is actually gay too? He sounds so closeted, it'd be easy money.
I totally agree Russia adds a lot of fuel to this fire, but it's not like they started it or are the only one tending it. Far-right everywhere uses the narrative of 'your country is changing and it's all because of immigrants', but don't forget they are exploiting an underlying fear that was already there.
