As a buyer: the last 2 or 3 items I bought from MPB had major issues even though they were listed in excellent condition which makes me think they do little more than turn something on and look at the cosmetics.

I bought a Leica M6 with a rangefinder misaligned and a bad shutter. And I bought a Sony RX1 with a huge dust spot that can’t be fixed since the camera is fixed lens.

The returns were easy but it’s just very annoying.

I don’t trust them as a buyer anymore. I’ll stick with KEH.

To all of you looking at KEH & MPB let me share with you one persons experience: EVERY single item I have bought from MPB listed as "Excellent" has had some major defect that indicates they do not evaluate their gear beyond basic function (does it turn on) and cosmetics.

I bought a Leica M6 that had a misaligned range finder and fucked up shutter. I just bought a Sony RX1 that has a huge dust spot on the sensor that isn't cleanable due to it being fixed lens.

I've never had this problem with KEH personally. Just buyer beware when it comes to MPB you may be returning you item disappointed.

This may seem odd but I’d like to hear people’s perspective on this.

I am a working freelance photographer. Lots of news, portraits, events.

I currently use 2 Sony bodies with the classic 24-70 and 70-200. I love the 70-200 for the reach and range. But I often find myself setting the 24-70 to a wider focal length and leaving it. I rarely zoom in and out. The ONLY time I use the 24-70 is news assignments where I don’t know what to expect.

I also have a 24, 35 and 85 primes that I love. I use the 24 & 35 all the time for any events or news stuff where I know what to expect.

I’ve been thinking about selling the 24-70 and getting a 50 prime and being done with the wider zoom. I love the lighter lenses, the faster aperture options, and the simplicity.

Would this be a mistake? How do y’all view this ?

Man y’all really zoom in and stare and stuff that small in the background?
