Using Amazon a lot and the rare occasions where I had to return something went very very smooth and also in Germany one is allowed to return for a 14 day period by law.

So I think I'd get away with buy and return-sampling headphones all the time, wouldn't do it though, because it doesn't align with my values.

I don't mind the weight, but somehow these ear feel incredibly warm on my bald head. Don't wear them for very long because of that.

I am happy with these presets but there's one thing I wonder...

The pdf says "adjust gain of band x for ...".

Does that mean I can for example increase the bass band as much as I like and that would be it, or do I need to decrease the preamp gain at a point to avoid clipping?

Asking for a friend who likes lot's of bass.

FWIW my MacBook Air M2 seems to have a more neutral sound with my LCD-X than my Playmate 2 with "vivid" OP amps. Seems the Playmate 2 smoothes the highs and surprisingly also seems to lower the bass volume significantly. Then it seems to widen the "stage" a bit, but that could also be imagined.

"may" but actually aren't.
