Europe’s richest man, the luxury goods magnate Bernard Arnault, has said that a wealth tax that could cost him more than €1bn (£817m) would be deadly for France’s economy.

The French founder of LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton said in a statement to the Sunday Times that calls for a 2% wealth tax on all assets “aims to destroy the liberal economy, the only one that works for the good of all”.

The idea of a wealth tax has steadily gained ground in France because of a political crisis, with the government trying to push through unpopular budget cuts. The idea of a 2% wealth tax on fortunes worth more than €100m has been proposed by Gabriel Zucman, an economics professor who has become a household name in France.

I was thinking about how lightphone 3 is basically a all or nothing solution to internet addiction and there exists an ideal where we have all the convenience of modern phones but without the addiction and I got thinking that properly fully functioning digital ai agents are a good use case here, we can reap the benefits of certain things such as access to browsing endlessly but with combing that aligns us to our goals we define in some format somewhere.

This is loosely what I sorta did on my phone awhile back and its been pretty awesome, there definitely exists a way to push the idea even further and make it better.

Right now I'm basically at a point with it where I have the bulk of the structure in place but it doesn't have the alignment aspect because I don't have some sort of immediate block to doing things that aren't in alignment, the closest I have is a minimal launcher which I can get to most apps are not visible unless I explicitly find them besides a few recents and a few alternative apps which make vital internet use cases more in line with this goal such as using the grayjay app for youtube and basically half the time when I browse the internet I am doing it through an ai app in some way that saves me time whether its more basic googling or more complex problem solving.

So I'm most of the way there bit wondering if anyone has ideas for making this better.

Edit: why are people downvoting an idea generation thread lol, do y'all like internet addiction and loss of self alignment? Or is it purely just that I whispered the word ai

I learned what non violent communication is a day ago and I'm using it to mend a friendship.

Have you however used it at the workplace?

I find it unpractical: there are so many things to do at the workplace and the last thing stressed people with deadlines need is to have a conversation about feelings, but maybe I'm wrong?

A question for nurses working bedside: do you actually use non violent communication at your ward with your patients and actually have time to do your other duties, like charting, preparing infusions and meds, dealing with providers, insurance, the alcoholic who fights you, the demented one who constantly tries to leave the unit, the one who wants to leave ama (against medical advice)?
