It really depends on what group of people we're talking about, what if you were attending a kung-fu-con, then the odds of everybody kung fu fighting increases dramatically

Except lightning travels at 270,000 mph, therefore it is literally impossible that their moves were "fast as lightning."

That's the speed of lightning in a vacuum, the speed of lightning in a dojo is significantly slower. In fact scientists believe that it can be brought to a crawl visible to normal human vision using a Tai Chi doping process. (Vacuum: Yes, i know)

It still doesn't seem likely as someone has to man the Kung Fu merch stalls, organize the event, take tickets, etc. Perhaps some of these tasks could be combined with Kung Fu fighting, but all of them seem very unlikely.

Lightning travels much slower when it's doing kung-fu moves.
