If the Raiders had been playing like they are now they could be a 7-8 win team but it’s also a miracle that they won 3 games under McDaniels
I think we’re more or less what our record says we are, maybe even a bit worse. This is an extremely flawed roster with a couple true superstars and we’ve escaped with narrow wins over some bad teams (and one blowout win over the giants). With the McDaniels firing the team has been playing really hard for Antonio Pierce but at the end of the day, this is still likely a below .500 team. And yet we could have easily beaten the Steelers and Chargers to be at 7 wins.
I mean how many teams are riddled with actual "Superstars"?
We are stacked at WR, have one of the best RBs in the league, have a stud LT in Kolton Miller and Maxx Crosby who is god tier.
I think the team just needs to do a better job of addressing positions of need that they are seemingly allergic too (LB, DT, RG).
That's what infuriates me about this season is that we basically wasted what is one of the softest first halves in a long time. Raiders now have the biggest "turn around" in DVoA of opponents.
I'm not holding my breath for the playoffs but just to see the Chiefs have to actually fucking respect us for once would be nice.
Infuriating season for this reason. Well for lots of reasons.
God the McDaniels hire pissed me off so much. I've never been so happy to see a coach get the boots.
I don't feel comfortable calling the Raiders a 7-8 win team until we know who Aiden is. Which is funny because we would have known that by now if the coach wasn't mentally incompetent.
If McDaniels wasn't there, I could see how the chargers and bears game could be different. That meas they'd be 7-3
