Welcome to the News community!

Rules:

1. Be civil

Attack the argument, not the person. No racism/sexism/bigotry. Good faith argumentation only. This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban. Do not respond to rule-breaking content; report it and move on.

2. All posts should contain a source (url) that is as reliable and unbiased as possible and must only contain one link.

Obvious biased sources will be removed at the mods’ discretion. Supporting links can be added in comments or posted separately but not to the post body. Sources may be checked for reliability using Wikipedia, MBFC, AdFontes, GroundNews, etc.

3. No bots, spam or self-promotion.

Only approved bots, which follow the guidelines for bots set by the instance, are allowed.

4. Post titles should be the same as the article used as source. Clickbait titles may be removed.

Posts which titles don’t match the source may be removed. If the site changed their headline, we may ask you to update the post title. Clickbait titles use hyperbolic language and do not accurately describe the article content. When necessary, post titles may be edited, clearly marked with [brackets], but may never be used to editorialize or comment on the content.

5. Only recent news is allowed.

Posts must be news from the most recent 30 days.

6. All posts must be news articles.

No opinion pieces, Listicles, editorials, videos, blogs, press releases, or celebrity gossip will be allowed. All posts will be judged on a case-by-case basis. Mods may use discretion to pre-approve videos or press releases from highly credible sources that provide unique, newsworthy content not available or possible in another format.

7. No duplicate posts.

If an article has already been posted, it will be removed. Different articles reporting on the same subject are permitted. If the post that matches your post is very old, we refer you to rule 5.

8. Misinformation is prohibited.

Misinformation / propaganda is strictly prohibited. Any comment or post containing or linking to misinformation will be removed. If you feel that your post has been removed in error, credible sources must be provided.

9. No link shorteners or news aggregators.

All posts must link to original article sources. You may include archival links in the post description. News aggregators such as Yahoo, Google, Hacker News, etc. should be avoided in favor of the original source link. Newswire services such as AP, Reuters, or AFP, are frequently republished and may be shared from other credible sources.

10. Don't copy entire article in your post body

For copyright reasons, you are not allowed to copy an entire article into your post body. This is an instance wide rule, that is strictly enforced in this community.

Splendid. About time some of these conservative fucking psychos were forcibly told to just shut up with their constant hate and violent bullshit.

Wait till they learn the system is set up to keep people in and make money. When they are released and are still treated like nothing on probation for the 2 years he will blame the democrats for that... Not the system the Republican party has faught through and through to privatize and increase profits rather than rehabilitate people. Sidenote: the democrats aren't innocent on building that system either, but maybeeee some of them will recognize prisons aren't run in a healthy manner that benefits the people.

Don't be too sure of it. There are two sets of laws and one favors the oligarchs and their minions, a lot - witness the kids gloves sentences the Jan6 criminals got..

“I won’t go quietly.”

Mostly false, he's still alive so obviously he didn't go down guns ablaze as he was hinting but I bet he was bitching the whole time he was being taken into custody.

In the "no shit Sherlock" category, these people love to run their mouths and talk tough but they crumple with the slightest inconvenience (see wearing a mask). Fucking snowflakes the lot of them.

[–] rayyy@lemmy.world 6 points 2 years ago

Just be careful. These morons believe his obvious lies and can be really bold when they have guns and they know sane people do not run around armed all the time.

But he was complaining the whole time

This is your brain on trump.

Geeze, the mug shot is the most flattering picture out of the four. How did they make Obama look orange? That's a wide looking Clinton. And the First Lady looks like she's about to commandeer a train.

[–] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 9 points 2 years ago

Maybe he can sell pictures of his mug shot with 'never surrender' under them like Trump did after he surrendered to police.

Seriously that shirt is doing her no favors.

Dude looks exactly like I pictured when I read the headline - White Incel NPC.

“I’ll murder him with my bare f—— hands then put a bullet in that piece of s— wife,” he wrote in reference to Joe and Jill Biden.

The following day, Mouser challenged federal authorities, writing that the “sad pathetic pigs won’t shoot me” because he’ll shoot back and kill them, then track down their children “and murder them too.”

Sounds well adjusted. Especially for a guy named Mouser. Imagine the names he must have been called as a kid. Doesn't excuse this pathetic call to violence. Oh well, not much was lost. Dumbass.

It must be exhausting to be an unpleasant asshole 100% of the time. This guy’s brain rotted.

Crazy that the judge's name is Lawless

[–] Zeppo@sh.itjust.works 5 points 2 years ago (2 children)

Reminds me Danielle Outlaw, who ran the police departments of several major cities.

There was a Doctor Slaughter in the town where I grew up (and he was very nice).

[–] NOT_RICK@lemmy.world 3 points 2 years ago (1 children)

I knew of a podiatrist named Dr. Foote. I’ve also seen the office an orthodontist named Dr. Brayces

[–] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 2 points 2 years ago

There was an optometrist in the same town named Dr. S. I. Ball.

[–] PlasticExistence@lemmy.world 2 points 2 years ago

Can't spell slaughter without laughter

[–] jeffw@lemmy.world 2 points 2 years ago

There was a Slaughter in Congress. Longest serving at the time of her death maybe 5-6 years ago. Funny, her yard signs just said “Louise”

[–] jeffw@lemmy.world 3 points 2 years ago

Funny name, surprisingly ineffective leader
