It has to be a sand race because the Cybertruck gets completely disabled from moisture.

Nonsense design vanity project made for toddler CEO underperforms in comparison to actual pickup designed and built by manufacturer of the top selling pickup.. who would have guessed.

I bet Musk thought he was a genius that could revolutionize trucks, just like Apple revolutionized smartphones.
I admit I still think the model S was pretty cool originally, but now there are better offers IMO, BMW and Audi have some very nice upper middle class cars, that I doubt very much Tesla can match the quality of. If money is not a problem, I'd go with a Mercedes. For a cheaper practical everyday car, I'd go with VW or Hyundai.

But goddam I just tried my neighbors BMW I4- eDrive 40, that's an amazing car with great range IMO. I've never been in a car that was that silent smooth and comfortable, and yet had stellar grip and handling. Even when you fired it up with everything it has, it was still quiet, you just felt the pressure of acceleration in the back. 😋

Well that BMW i4 is almost as smooth as this Marlboro cigarette that I’m enjoying right now.

I tell you, nothing helps relax you more than unwinding with a Marlboro cigarette. The rich full flavour and slow toasted leaves with the extra fine filter ensures I get the best experience. Every time.

Marlboro. It’s what Lemmy users prefer™

That explains why Elon suddenly came out against drag 😉

No shit, the Cybertruck can't offroad.

[–] Quetzlcoatl@sh.itjust.works 93 points 6 months ago (8 children)

Cybertruck cant really truck. Turns out its just hot wheels for man-children.

[–] Ledivin@lemmy.world 74 points 6 months ago (2 children)

Turns out its just hot wheels for man-children.

Like 90% of the point of hot wheels was looking cool, so I have to respectfully disagree

[–] legion02@lemmy.world 22 points 6 months ago (1 children)

My six year old thinks it looks cool. If you adjust for hot wheels demographics I think they're golden

[–] RamblingPanda@lemmynsfw.com 15 points 6 months ago (2 children)

I have decades more experience in being a child and I think it looks stupid.

That's what the majority of (sedans masquerading as) trucks are used for anyway.

[–] LinusSexTips@lemmy.world 9 points 6 months ago (2 children)

Pavement Princess or emotional support vehicle. Really hate the area I live in currently, my street is cluttered with them.

They filled the truck beds with a bunch of fish. It's actually cod racing.

[–] RandomStickman@kbin.run 35 points 6 months ago (1 children)

Actually they filled the truck beds with grass-covered surface soil. It's actually sod racing.

[–] Kalkaline@leminal.space 32 points 6 months ago (1 children)

Wrong again, they filled both trucks with metal poles, this is rod racing.

[–] ironhydroxide@sh.itjust.works 24 points 6 months ago (1 children)

Still wrong, the beds are obviously empty. Only some people can enter this race, this is Todd racing.

[–] ccunning@lemmy.world 25 points 6 months ago (1 children)

Turns out the beds are filled with the discarded shells from shucking peas. This is Pod Racing…

[–] MrQuallzin@lemmy.world 14 points 6 months ago (1 children)

Nah, they actually filled them with collectible cardboard bottle caps. This is POG Racing

[–] Soggy@lemmy.world 15 points 6 months ago (2 children)

It was a convoluted Dutch smuggling operation, the event was a cover. This is clog racing.

The bed of each truck is filled with a family of dolphins. This is pod racing.

[–] TheHottub@lemmy.world 9 points 6 months ago

Now THIS is pod racing.

[–] Lianodel@ttrpg.network 33 points 6 months ago (2 children)

I do appreciate the fact that the Cybertruck was so clearly designed by someone who had no idea how to design a car, and that it's Musk's pet project. It really drives another nail in the coffin of the idea that he deserves all the credit for the work his companies do.

Then again, his most die-hard supporters draw no distinction between ownership and labor. They're also somehow able to look at a Cybertruck and think "Wow!" rather than "Wow, is this some kind of a joke?"

[–] Gradually_Adjusting@lemmy.world 11 points 6 months ago

I used to kinda like it because it was wrong and dumb, but I'd only ever get a horribly ugly statement car if it combined terrible aesthetics with good performance and build quality.

I mean I'm more of a car guy so trucks and off roading aren't my specialty but a vehicle built by a company that's done it for a century vs a pissboy.

Shocker...

[–] Linkerbaan@lemmy.world 14 points 6 months ago (2 children)

Wait the cybertruck doesn't even have all wheel drive?

[–] JamesTBagg@lemmy.world 10 points 6 months ago (3 children)

I hate the Cybertruck as much as the next guy, but this could really boil down to just tire choice and nothing more.
