Süle is responsible for both goals conceded

Wonder how Wagner wanna tell Nagelsmann IT wasn't his fault

[–] jsnamaok@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

WHY is Süle still halfway up the pitch with a Mexican player on the outside of the box 😭

[–] jsnamaok@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

But Hummels should play when available and I’d like to see Thiaw as he was very good last time. He starts for Milan I don’t see why he can’t start for the NT

[–] julesvr5@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

OK that Müller goal was 100% offside, so all good

big mac enjoying the vacation in philly

When he first joined Dortmund he was even bigger I think

[–] jsnamaok@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Big Mac is not a footballer

[–] Fearless_Ad4244@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I don't get it why doesn't he play Müller as a second striker with Füllkrug spearheading the attack.

[–] hps131@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Fulkrug is inevitable

[–] The-Berzerker@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Let‘s gooooo

[–] julesvr5@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (2 children)

I must say Musiala is pretty bad today

[–] HeilWerneckLuk@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

He has been for almost the whole year unfortunately

[–] itsjavigold@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Yet he was still one of the more dangerous players imo

[–] Numerous-Ad-3050@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Idk why but wirtz just doesn’t seem to click with this Germany team, he doesn’t get to show his strengths at all

[–] williamsRB@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Maybe it has to do with sharing the middle of the pitch space with Musiala? At Leverkusen, he is the guy for that space and all the other players know how to move to accomodate his vision.

[–] Scrappy_101@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

He has also only played a handful of games with the NT after his injury comeback since March. So he also probably just needs more time to gel, especially since a new coach is in charge

[–] Enough-Airline-5464@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Finally, good sub

[–] julesvr5@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

What do you say, penalty? Strong involvement of the arms, like pulling him down

[–] julesvr5@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

At first sight I might have called a penalty there for Raum

[–] SPammingisGood@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

another one

Great idea by Musi

[–] bagholder_69@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Goretzka has been a passenger this second half just like Groß in the first. Really need kimmich back to help Gundogan

[–] The-Berzerker@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

He’s been even more invisible than Groß

[–] Fearless_Ad4244@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

A Kimmich Gundogan double pivot is really bad, neither of them can defend good and both like to play more in the attack you risk making your team really bad defensively and with Germany's defense being this bad, I don't think that it would be a wise decision to play them both.

[–] flyingpanda5693@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (3 children)

The problem with that statement, even though you’re not wrong, is that Kimmich absolutely can defend. The guy was literally a second coming of Phillip Lahm for 2-3 years before the switch to CM, easily a top 3 RB in the world. Why he can’t, or won’t, defend as a 6 in the midfield is beyond me.

[–] Fearless_Ad4244@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

He is not a really good defender but he is decent enough to not make big mistakes. He is a second coming of Lahm in terms of attacking plays in right back not as a defender. He is a little bit slow to play in that position because in modern days you have to be fast when you play as a fullback because the tendency today is also to help the team in attack so you have to be fast enough to run the whole pitch from your goal to the opposition's goal and to be able to quickly turn in defence in case you are needed. And he plays as a deep lying playmaker and not as a CM but as a DM with not having defensive duties as a typical destroyer DM has but of orchestrating the play.

Please no I’m begging

[–] Erdnussfreund@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I´m happy for my mexican homeboys. Was just able to watch the game after the 55th minute, how did both teams play?

[–] flyingpanda5693@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I would say Germany dominated most of the possession, but we’re threatening any more than the Mexican team.

Ochoa, the bane of my existence (as an American) made another couple good saves, including one huge one just before Germany scored the 2nd.

Germany looked dangerous at times, but they lack someone willing to play that 40yr ball onto a runner like Boateng. A few times they had a wing player or wide back making a run behind and just couldn’t get it to them.

Tuchelball back this weekend 🔥

[–] kirdnehnaj243@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Did anybody actually get to watch the match? Us europeans were timed out unfortunately. I’ve seen the highlights, but how did we look overall? I feel like we are starting to build something. At this stage of our rebuild being able to test ourselves mentally coming back from behind is probably more valuable than steamrolling Lithuania etc 6.0 in qualifiers.

I really am confused about Thiaw though. He played a few games under Flick and looked like a natural starter, then never seen again. Him and Hummels should be our starting CBs.

[–] gokkel@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Didn't watch the game because I am not gonna be up all night for this, but just looking at the lineup and our apparently once again shoddy defense I am already back to being disillusioned with our national team again.

Why does Germany always have to play these weird and reckless tactics? Why can we not finally play a more pragmatic style of football like everyone else? And why do we couple this with a lineup without a proper striker AGAIN after this has failed every time for last several years under the previous coaches already? Why is Müller playing instead of Füllkrug rather than together with him? What for did we nominate Behrens if we are gonna play without a striker anway?

This is exactly the same bullshit we had to watch all the time under Flick und Löw.

[–] JaMeS_OtOwn@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Flick also had a decent record when he started with the German NT. 1 win & 1 draw. I also see Nagelsman making the same mistakes over again.
