Oh I get it he is Giannis 2.0

Hot take, Wiseman is going to be really good

I think everyone may have overthought this. he's a fucking freak of nature, you don't need game-tape to show that.

Good call. Lots of Giannis comps on this thread, but that's not quite it. I mentioned Orlando Shaq, but this is maybe even better

Warriors drafted Curry after the Timberwolves passed up on him (twice).

Warriors drafted Wiseman after the Timberwolves passed up on him.

There might be a trend here.

That’s my future MVP

Imagine thinking Anthony Edwards is better than this guy

“DeAndre Jordan with a slightly better jumper”

My favorite is the guys mocking the Deandre Jordan and Javale comps. Wiseman isn’t even as good as those guys. What a bust

Nah y'all's hater energy is fucking wack

[–] zachache@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Spread the love! Hope big Jim develops. More good players is good for the league.

Kid’s 22, by all reports a decent hardworking person who just got fucked by injuries and is now sitting on the precipice of losing the dream he’s worked for his entire life, and OP’s out here digging up old threads of one of the few times he got to show what he could really do just to shit on him and call him a bust. Go touch grass, OP.

[–] TravisPicklez@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago (1 children)

He was injured a couple times but he’s been healthy for a long time and shown almost no game awareness or ability to play any way except “give me the ball to go 1 on 1 or I’ll sulk”

[–] SlyMrF0x@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago (1 children)

He’s played 84 games in a 4 year career, including losing half his first year and his entire second year to injuries. Seriously, this kid is 22 years old. Spend your energy on something else.

[–] TravisPicklez@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Why are you online defending some scrub who is about to wash out of the league because he can’t win the backup center job on the worst team in the nba? Spend your energy on something relevant lol

Considering how few players, even those who make it to the NBA becomes stars, it's the weakest shit ever to call every prospect a bust. Yes, you're probably right. But that doesn't mean you know anything, you're just making the safest prediction possible to stoke your own ego when they bust. Well a majority of them bust so congratulations you bet on red and 75% of the numbers at the roulette table and won. Go you.

Wiseman was the number 1 recruit in the country, played 3 games in college and averaged 21, 10, and 3 blocks, and was 7’1 250 pounds. 7’4 wingspan, and could run and jump and shoot.

Please stop with him being a shitty draft pick. Hindsight is 20/20, but he was the consensus number 1 pick before Anthony Edwards broke out.

If you actually want the details and data it was easy to see why they liked him. Everyone still asks “Why don’t the Warriors get a big? Or Are the Warriors to small to win the title?”

Jeez

[–] holaprobando123@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

played 3 games in college

[–] SportsBettingRef@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

this says more about recruiting and drafting in USA. I watched 3 videos of him before draft, and NEVER had drafted him before Ant and LaMello. looked raw for start. fuck the fit, draft the BPA. I'm not even good at this drafting thing.

[–] BlackScienceJesus@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Yeah, you are right. Great pick!

[–] UnhingedSupernova@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Everyone and especially the oldheads I hear talk ball, are really hype around a bigman with lots of potential with zero consideration on the downsides of having them.

In 2022, Magic Johnson was even hyping up Wiseman, who has shown nothing and said he'll contribute a lot to winning a chip for the Warriors. Spoiler alert, they didn't need him.

[–] suri14@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

You mean the guy who thought lonzo ball was gonna break his records..

[–] RROORRYY@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

I like how a couple of guys are clowning those who claimed Onyeka Okongwu is better

[–] Jordanwolf98@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Man all the Covid season highlights are so crazy to look back on for me now

[–] Outrageous-Salary969@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Just goes to show how most guys here don't know what they're talking about and just parrot what's popular.

[–] Economy_Garlic_3501@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Imagine getting paid 12 million to not even be in a ten man rotation.

[–] ChannelNeo@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

I want that role.

[–] SG-2000@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

It was a good play.

Advanced level hating right here.

[–] arcelios@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago (2 children)

TBF, maybe Wiseman is never going to be that good. But he isn't a "bust" fool. The Warriors are the WORST team right now for the younger players to develop and shine. Jordan Poole was the best player on the GSW for a long time, and he also won them a game in the NBA Finals.. quite single handedly.

Then Everyone witnessed what Draymond did with Jordan Poole. Especially those younger players.. They witnessed it firsthand. Imagine the toxic cesspool environment. And Draymond is not Jordan or LeBron. There's no excuse

GSW handicap (and even ostracize) the younger players, just to favor that "core Trio". Even when the core Trio is playing like shit. Steve Kerr coddles that TRIO like they're babies.. Draymond also played a big role in KD leaving.

No wonder Bob Myers left. He just didn't have the guts to make the right decision

[–] BigDaddyJuno@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

James is that you?

[–] Paschalls_Law@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Lol what an awful post my god.

Also, Wiseman is now fighting to be a BACKUP 5 vs Bagley on a 20 win Pistons team.

[–] PensiveinNJ@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

People were talking about him like he's Paul Reed.

Wemby has had three of these plays a game

future will tell

I often wonder to what degree Bill Simmons creates a kind of global groupthink, influencing everyone from the nephew to the GM.

[–] justsomedude717@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

If this were true they all would be talking about how they knew jokic was special from the jump 24/7

[–] Ok-Map4381@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Not that much. Luka would have been #1 if everyone listened to Bill Simmons.

I think Zach Lowe has some minor influence over all-nba voting, but that's all the influence the big media personalities have.

[–] NewbieRepGuy@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago (3 children)

Hot take:

He’ll develop well…be a solid contributor…and maybe even flourish and live up to some of his potential with another team.

No matter how you spin it, he obviously didn’t mesh well with both the warriors and their coaching staff/philosophy.

That doesn’t just eliminate the talent and potential that he has.

[–] justsomedude717@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Clearly he has talent but talent can’t always make up for being absolutely lost on an NBA court

I would be surprised if you’re right but the guy clearly does not have an instinctual understanding of how to leverage the talent he has. More often guys like that end up being busts

[–] d7h7n@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

did you not watch him this preseason?

even our dereck lively is probably better than him already. Wiseman still can't set a fucking screen, Lively already squares his body properly and recognizes when to do brush and slip screens for the ball handler.

[–] DuckieTheDuckie@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Nope. Maybe uf he dudnt have thhe braun of a stego saurus itd be fune

[–] ak47_al123@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

OP, claiming to be a fan of the Warriors, shitting on a former player like this, is fucking stupid.

[–] KuzzyPoole@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

DeAndre Jordan with a slightly better jumper cracked me up. What does that mean when DeAndre's jumper is non-existent?

[–] Funny-Examination3@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Wait... He only played 3 games in college?

(Warriors fan) Yea that was one of the big questions about him. If he had the chance to show his game more would have undoubtedly been the 1st pick.
