"Co-founder and former CEO of Twitter, Inc. from 2015 to 2021" for context

[–] Sixtyforce@sh.itjust.works 25 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Glad he's not involved with BlueSky anymore. Reap what you sow, fuckwad.

[–] CancerMancer@sh.itjust.works 11 points 18 hours ago

100%. Everyone talks a lot of shit about Musk and how he runs X, but Dorsey was doing the dirty work of authoritarians before that and censoring people on Twitter constantly. A non-trivial amount of Twitter staff came right out of the alphabet agencies.

X is not special, the mask is just off now.

[–] fakeplastic@lemmy.dbzer0.com 157 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Good thing he left Bluesky to go back to X, the free speech app.

[–] MolecularCactus1324@lemmy.world 167 points 1 day ago (3 children)

The guy had the option to sell like $1 billion of his ownership stake in Twitter when Musk bought it, but instead left it in. He also supported the Musk takeover. Guy is a fool.

[–] dohpaz42@lemmy.world 107 points 1 day ago

Despite everything, he’s a tech bro first.

[–] betternotbigger@lemmy.world 24 points 1 day ago (1 children)

No one remembers the brief stint to leap frog Web3 with Web5? I'm so tired of these tech bros.

[–] jonne@infosec.pub 7 points 1 day ago

Ah, the old Winamp gambit.

[–] Fredthefishlord@lemmy.blahaj.zone 7 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Wait he owns that many shares and he still got banned?

[–] vga@sopuli.xyz 6 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

If that figure of $1 billion is correct, that's just 1/44 ownership. Hardly a portion that allows one to control anything operative.

X might be the worst platform on the internet.

[–] Sixtyforce@sh.itjust.works 9 points 21 hours ago (2 children)

Basically 8chan but with advertisers for some reason.

[–] Captainautism@lemmy.dbzer0.com 4 points 21 hours ago

The advertisers get bullied into advertising. Elmo sues any company that doesn't advertise on X.

[–] 5parky@lemmy.world 32 points 1 day ago

With reddit eating X's ass on the highway to insignificance.

[–] edgemaster72@lemmy.world 73 points 1 day ago (1 children)

X gonna give it to ya (it being a temporary suspension)

[–] Aeao@lemmy.world 10 points 1 day ago (2 children)

That's good but I'm concerned since I'm currently unable to pick it up on my own. Is this standing offer that I can take advantage of at a later date?

[–] Psaldorn@lemmy.world 7 points 1 day ago

Fuck waitin' for you t'get it on y'own X gon' delivery it to ya!

It being an authoritarian regime.

[–] shalafi@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago

Sidenote: what the hell is primal.net???

[–] Kirk@startrek.website 13 points 21 hours ago

Looks like a Nostr instance? Nostr is kinda like Mastodon but not using ActivityPub. To my knowledge Nostr is not blockchain related but it is exclusively used by cryptobros.

Here is the archived link. If they're famous, archive it please. Rule 6

https://archive.is/UajMJ

[–] BaroqueInMind@lemmy.one 7 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (2 children)

Nah, I don't give a fuck about famous people, and you shouldn't either.

They're simply just regular humans who happen to make more money than you, and that's not enough value for me to pay attention.

Archiving this shit is a waste of drive space.

[–] pelespirit@sh.itjust.works 92 points 1 day ago (2 children)

It's not because I care about what they say, it's so that we don't have misquotes and people fighting over that shit. Also, no one wants to go to x directly to see the link. We're saving the users of this community and not giving them any traffic.

[–] BaroqueInMind@lemmy.one 20 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

Valid reasoning.

[–] TriflingToad@sh.itjust.works 1 points 21 hours ago (1 children)

what method do you recommend to use to archive it?

[–] pelespirit@sh.itjust.works 3 points 17 hours ago

Go to archive.is and put in the link. This is only for famous people or a political figure. If someone is just commenting on the state of things or whatever, it doesn't really matter.

[–] count_dongulus@lemmy.world 6 points 1 day ago

They don't make the money, they take the money.

[–] Kolanaki@pawb.social 28 points 1 day ago

You may need to perform additional tasks to resume using X

"You know what to do. On your knees before Elon."

[–] pelespirit@sh.itjust.works 25 points 1 day ago (1 children)

What did he say that got him banned, does anyone know?

[–] spankmonkey@lemmy.world 22 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Probably didn't personally thank Trum and Musk today or something.

[–] suite403@lemmy.world 9 points 1 day ago

I bet he claimed to have founded Twitter. Can't be spreading propaganda on X after all.

[–] tischbier@feddit.org 34 points 1 day ago

Co-founder and former CEO of Twitter. So, kind of like: the chiX have come home to twit

[–] faizalr@fedia.io 11 points 1 day ago

The founder?

[–] Dramasquared@lemmy.zip -4 points 15 hours ago

Pretty wild.

Jack Dorsey's name adds up to 666, and he sold the company to Elon Musk, who's name adds to 660. And 660 banned 666. Weird.

Anyone interested, you can look up the 666 calculator to check.
