"Since 2022" - not a headline-worthy comparison imo

It's the WORST year since last year. And I'm not exaggerating.

Covid continues to screw us over by hiding how badly Trump is screwing the economy.

Whoever he’s tipping off before announcing a tariff is doing great though.

[–] andrewta@lemmy.world 10 points 1 day ago

Exactly. Always follow the money.

Wow 2022, do they really have records that far back? That's way longer back than I can remember!!
My attention span is measured in seconds! SECONDS I tell you. So how many seconds is... sorry what were we talking about again?

Hahaha I hadn't laughed so hard since the beginning of this hour!

It is said that records existed before the societal collapse of America, but few can say for certain these days.

How does something Trump fucked up hide that Trump is fucking up?
Denmark was one of the hardest hit early on by Covid. But our government reacted quickly and handled it efficiently, and it's been a non issue for a long time now.

Edit:
I think you may be misremembering the timeline?

[–] jacksilver@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago

Because without covid you'd probably have to go back further in time (or maybe not cause Trump would've screwed things over anyways).

I'm just calling out that covid kinda acted as a soft reset on a lot of metrics (economic and otherwise) so anything looking back in time is going to be a bit funky.

Look at the address. CNN lite. Blegh, piss journalism. Give me that CNN banquet, that's where I want my news buzz coming from.

[–] ape_arms@lemmy.world 16 points 1 day ago

Exactly the plan. Tank the market, then the rich buy stock at rock bottom.

[–] MyOpinion@lemm.ee 18 points 1 day ago

Maybe don’t vote for a moron.

[–] melsaskca@lemmy.ca 15 points 1 day ago

Wall street is also fed up with rich insiders gaming the system so badly that it is close to collapse. We need something better than this ancient relic of a "stock market" system.

[–] avidamoeba@lemmy.ca 6 points 1 day ago

Wow, a 5% drop, big mad! 😤

[–] kent_eh@lemmy.ca 4 points 1 day ago

Wall Street is fed up with Trump’s tariffs

And, what are they going to do about it?

[–] huppakee@lemm.ee 7 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Wow so it's worse than every year from 2023 all the way to 2024!?

[–] 1984@lemmy.today 3 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Well, covid made the stocks tank since people thought it was gonna kill so many people that society would have problems.

Trump managed to make the stock market tank even worse, but yeah, I agree with the people who say its intentional.

[–] huppakee@lemm.ee 3 points 1 day ago (1 children)

"... worse since 2022" means 2022 was worse than this year. Also the stocks that tanked because of covid did mainly in 2020 and 2021.

[–] 1984@lemmy.today 2 points 1 day ago

Thats true. I forgot covid was mostly in 20 and 21.
