He’s a very talented scorer that doesn’t seem interested in doing anything else.

Follow the shooting odds.
Do you believe Cam Thomas is a 63% shooter after shooting 43 and 44% the last two years? Of course not. Which means it's just a hot streak.
He'll soon have a couple of 25% shooting games to offset the hot start and things will reach equilibrium again around 44%. Once that happens, the scoring average will plummet from 30 back down to 15.
As a Nets fan I expect Cam to fall back to earth at some point but this is my favorite cherry picked stat of his.
Most PPG all-time by a starter over the last 40 seasons (minimum 5 games):
-
32.6 — Cam Thomas
-
30.5 — Michael Jordan
Nobody else has more than 30.
he's him
Great scorer, can shoot and drive. Absolutely ass on defense.
Do you really need it to be a fluke to be like a Jordan Clarkson type?
He'll have bad games and good games. Doesn't mean any of it is a fluke that's just the way it goes as a sparkplug type scorer
He’s real in terms of scoring
i think it's 80% legit, and the nets should and have the personel to play like the 2017 Celtics. No way Thomas is so big of a balckhole on defense that a team with Ben Simmons, Mikal Bridges and Claxton is below average defensively. And they clearly lack scoring.
I hope he’s for real but right now his high scoring games aren’t translating into wins yet.
I think people doubting him are gonna be in for a wake-up call this season. The dude consistently makes difficult shots that we see the top scorers make.
He's not going to sustain the stretch he's on now, but over the past year+, his best comp is prolly Tyler Herro - which is "highly variable scorer best suited as 6th man."
He's still two years younger and improving on D/passing, so that could be his floor. But even if not, that's a "for real" contributor.
He never went back down to earth he was benched for the guys that were recently traded for in the KD & Kyrie's trades.
People only knew about Cam from the 40-point games but as a Nets fan, I knew he was the real deal in his rookie season. He led the team back from a 28-point deficit in MSG & he hit a Game Winner with KD & Harden on the floor. He was also the lead scorer in the Pacer game, The Nets rested their starters against in his sophomore year, this was an impressive win to me because that same Pacer team beat KD & Kyrie.
Cam been "HIM"
