Just as an experiment, it appears that drawing maps isn't one of the strengths of AI.

Made with le chat, ChatGPT does a little better.

[–] fedithom@social.saarland 0 points 1 day ago (1 children)

@cron

Why would I even try this, when there's an endless line of reasons to not even touch that stuff?

Yeah but Netherlands being underwater is funny

[–] cron@feddit.org 39 points 5 days ago (9 children)

Just for reference, that's the ChatGPT version. It has some trouble to correctly name the balkan countries, and the UK has been renamed. Greece captured a part of turkey and Denmark has moved under water.

[–] GreatRam@lemmy.world 14 points 5 days ago

Turkey pulled a gulf of America

[–] baldingpudenda@lemmy.world 10 points 5 days ago

In chat gpt's defense. I also have trouble with the balkans

[–] cloudless@feddit.uk 5 points 5 days ago

Yay! Ukraine gets Crimea back.

[–] ryedaft@sh.itjust.works 5 points 5 days ago

Denmark has moved underwater

Maybe it's a map for the 22nd century?

[–] TriflingToad@sh.itjust.works 6 points 5 days ago

that's not bad for a bulshit machine

Wow, not many people get Ucrtand right! Impressive!

[–] Clevererhans@lemmynsfw.com 3 points 5 days ago

That's pretty decent, actually. Way better than the average human would have done.

While the text is wrong the borders are pretty accurate!

[–] HerrVorragend@lemmy.world 18 points 5 days ago (1 children)

Just look at all that Lebensraum the AI wants to give us!

[–] AllNewTypeFace@leminal.space 7 points 5 days ago

As Churchill said, “I love Germany so much I want to have six of them forever”

[–] bjoern_tantau@swg-empire.de 17 points 5 days ago (2 children)

Guess it's an American model.

[–] cron@feddit.org 29 points 5 days ago

le chat is a french AI service. Maybe that's why FRANCE has the biggest font size ;)

[–] TachyonTele@lemm.ee 6 points 5 days ago (2 children)

I want to see the US version of this now

[–] cron@feddit.org 19 points 5 days ago (6 children)

Maybe you don't want to see it? You've been warned:

[–] BarbecueCowboy@lemmy.dbzer0.com 10 points 5 days ago

Everything's bigger in Hawaii.

[–] PunnyName@lemmy.world 9 points 5 days ago (1 children)

WOW

Hawaii and Alaska are the only legible words I could find! And of course, not in their respective locations.

And don’t forget the great state of AHASHA

[–] TachyonTele@lemm.ee 2 points 5 days ago

Yeah that's not nearly as fun. Oh well

[–] _stranger_@lemmy.world 3 points 5 days ago (2 children)

I have a friend that would die laughing at a Montana T-shirt with Alaska written on it with such confidence.

[–] PunnyName@lemmy.world 1 points 4 days ago

Both the Texas and Montana shirts should be made ASAP, lol

[–] greybeard@lemmy.one 1 points 4 days ago* (last edited 4 days ago)

I made a shirt like that before for someone. It was a it had the Hyundai logo, the label S2000(A Honda sports car) and a picture of BMW Z24. It was very wrong but in a way subtle enough that only people who liked soft top roadsters would ever notice.

[–] Korhaka@sopuli.xyz 2 points 5 days ago

Better than I would do probably

Wow I never thought it would understand alien dialects!

[–] bjoern_tantau@swg-empire.de 2 points 5 days ago

It didn't know that Italy looks like a boot so I doubt it knows the Kentucky fried chicken trick.

[–] nexguy@lemmy.world 12 points 5 days ago

france !! FRANCE !!

[–] ironhydroxide@sh.itjust.works 13 points 5 days ago (1 children)

This must be from another timeline, Germany successfully conquered Russia.

[–] merde@sh.itjust.works 11 points 5 days ago (1 children)

You win some, you lose some.

[–] Dindonmasker@sh.itjust.works 9 points 5 days ago

Wait it's all netherlands, france, germany and italy? 🔫Always as been.

[–] neons@lemmy.dbzer0.com 5 points 5 days ago

[–] sit@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 5 days ago

Never forget ✊😔 the great swap

[–] Atherel@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 5 days ago (1 children)

Interesting. I always read about hands but last time I tried, they also had no idea how excavators look or work.

[–] cron@feddit.org 3 points 5 days ago

I think this is a fun illustration of a task that is particularly hard for image AI.

[–] androidul@lemmy.world 2 points 5 days ago

wow! pretty accurate 😲
