Donald Trump blocked Elon Musk from attending a top-secret Pentagon briefing about China, saying, “What the f— is Elon doing there? Make sure he doesn’t go,” according to a top official who spoke to Axios.

A meeting at the Pentagon with Musk and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth still went ahead that day, but China wasn’t discussed.

After The New York Times reported on March 20 that the meeting had been set up, Trump dismissed the story as “Fake News” on Truth Social.

You can replace the right most column with 'US citizens' and still be just as accurate

Trump has immunity to all crime while he's president so he's won against the judicial system.

And like with all domestics, the kids lose.

Someone else than Musk probably told Trump that he shouldn't be there. Vance maybe? He seems to become more actively involved lately.

[–] ExLisper@lemmy.curiana.net 14 points 3 days ago

I think at this point Trump is like a giant gorilla in the room. You have to distract him with something and hope he will not get angry or interrupt anything serious. He doesn't really understand what's going on around him, he just randomly picks up things and plays with them until he gets bored. You can never interrupt or correct him but real work happens behind his back.

Vance is part of the Musk/Thiel faction. It's more likely trump is sensitive about the whole shadow president thing and also annoyed by musk.

[–] NuXCOM_90Percent@lemmy.zip 20 points 3 days ago

Assuming this is actually true:

trump was just angry that there was a meeting he wasn't invited to. Which... he was, he just ignored it.

Doesn’t look like it anymore.

[–] Marighost@lemm.ee 2 points 3 days ago

Just a lovers' spat.

I was wondering when the narcissism would really kick in - we all know it’s not competence that’s causing him to ask such deep questions.

Sounds like spoon fed bullshit from an “unnamed source” to me.
