So what do we do if we get bitten by something deadly, then?” I asked.

He blinked at me as if I were stupid.

“Well, what do you think you do?” he said. “You die of course. That’s what deadly means.”

You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

...so getting bitten can actually lead to super powers... hmm.

i wonder if hes going to get sensitized and become allergic to it, i remember there was another guy that tried this and he became allergic overtime just from dried venom.

Its an interesting area of biology. For example bee stings are like this, where you get more and more allergic with every sting. Mosquitos are the opposite tho, where at some point it will just stop having any effect.

I'm not sure my histamines got the memo. 😒

some people are sensitive they can get a really bad rash from it.

It's nuts how different people are. I don't react to mosquito bites, but my friend gets really itchy red welts from them that linger.

you can get sensitized to allergens and bug bites. im guessing its different if its purified and then injected than maybe. funny thing mosquitoes have complex salival compounds that initially suppresses the immune system, once it wears off the body reacts to the proteins.

much like urushiol oil from the poison ivy family, you get sensitized overtime from it. the more potent species is oak and sumac. with chemicals i think you can get sensitized over it. im guessing people who have atopic dermatitis might be very prone to this.

if you are having allergy test, you can ask to test your IGE levels, ige are high when you have chronic allergies. at a certain level like over 1000+ on the results you start to get things like ashtma, severe atopic dermatitis, and allergic rhinitis, >2000 indicates a rare disorder.
