Why would Trump need to be informed about it?
If they're going to inform him, they might as well just tell Putin too.
So he can tip off his suck off buddy
Just tell Pete Hegseth's wife and the Russian hackers can read about it in The Atlantic.
He's busy. Wake him up when he has to approve the next bribe.
He's trying to fix the peace talks all on his own while undermining the EU.
Him not getting informed while EU members do would make him very upset.
That's why it was successful
Why on earth should Zelensky do that? He knows about how important secrecy and security is. Telling Trump about this would be akin to advertize it on billboards in Moscow.
But it would be beautiful if after successful strikes deep into Russia, when asked if he shared the information with Trump, he chose to lie and say, "yes, yes, none of this could have been possible without our American allies." Just to put Trump in the dog house with daddy Putin.
Oh god, that would have been fantastic.

he should not and without reading the article i am pretty sure that is not what it suggests. it illustrates how untrustworthy the former ally (the word leader was used in the past) of the free world is.

Exactly. The US isn't engaged in war with anyone as far as I know (currently). They might provide some material support to a trusted ally but they are not at war with Russia.

The title stating the obvious concerning the felon not being informed is weird, but the article is a worthwhile read:

About 40 Russian military planes, including strategic bombers, were reportedly struck in the attack.
I cannot begin to imagine what a blow this is to Russia's crumbling air force. And the ingenuity of the attack (some of whose details are omitted in this article - though you may have read more about it in others) is phenomenal.
And don't forget this little tidbit - also a developing story:
Ukraine’s unprecedented drone attack on Russia comes as seven people were killed and 69 more injured after bridges collapsed in separate incidents across Russia.
I imagine the pending defenestrations of some Russian officials might be kept secret.
Smartest possible move on their part. Trump is dangerous and can’t be trusted not to tell Putin.
