Lemmygrad
I thought that was a nickname for .ml
It sort of is, I think the same people run it, but its also a seperate domain where they take the masks off.
Oh, it's been so long since the last time I saw something from that instance that I totally forgot them
Thanks
I highly recommend. russia is a state of insane.
No, it's just new instances to easily create accounts in (why would those three be new when they're literally older than .world?)
They should know better, you obviously have a good keyboard and lots of free time. I wouldn't mess with you and I've been boxing for 20 years.
I hate to ask, but can someone help me understand what .ml is doing differently? And what's a tankie? Genuinely asking
I've just had .ml blocked for a long time and life's been good. I would prefer defederation. If put democratically, I'm sure that's what would be voted for as well.
Yeah me too. There's very little value to justify keeping them in my feeds. As soon as there is a decent alternative to lemmy I'm leaving.
I'm banned from 1 of 3...
... so far.
Rookie numbers.
Try harder, bud.
Hey you're that person who steals crow pictures aren't you?
Lmao all crossposted OC content from .ml comms is properly attributed to the Author/Photographer/Artist/User
New profile pic lmao
It actually is you madlad.
I thought crows were meant to recognise themself in the mirror :p
Nice jackdaw!
I'm not getting into this no sir.
Awww...
Uh, are you serious? Why? What did you even say?
Hmmm prob a combination of:
- My calls for defederation of .ml
- My calls for boycotting of .ml comms
- My cross-posting of content from .ml comms to non-.ml comms to reduce their influence
- My constant collection of evidence of the .ml admins, mods and Tankie users
.world isn't defederated from .ml? I thought it was, for some reason... Well, it is the admin instance so, I guess.
I wish lol, yea world did defederate with the rest of the triad, but .ml is generally left because
Its the dev instance and they run official Lemmy dev/support comms from there, they still have a few big comms and some of the only niche comms (both issues I aim to address through cross-posting) and they "keep the mask on" more and keep things subtle to avoid larger defed movements
Unfortunately, I'm getting to the point where I suspect a fork or alternate compatible platform may be needed (rather than just nice to have).
They are a famous fighter against the tankie triad, check the posts in !meanwhileongrad@sh.itjust.works
Iβm new here and still grasping the way the fediverse works.
Is this basically saying 3 user accounts were made for the mass downvoting or whatβs happening?
Instances are more like servers or domains. Your instance is lemmy.world. We can see votes from individual users because votes federate across instances, (like if you, on lemmy.world, were to vote on my instance, lemmy.dbzer0).
In order for that federation to happen, the votes must be public. This prevents a rogue instance from just lying and telling other instances βyeah all my shit is super upvotedβ and pushing itself to the top, or inversely pushing others down by spoofing downvotes. It also allows instances to properly block banned users; If Iβm banned from a community/instance, my individual votes shouldnβt count towards it. So anyone with the know-how can inspect which individual users have voted on posts, and how they have voted.
Someone spun up three entire instances and mass created dozens of accounts on each, just to mass downvote. Itβs just blatant vote manipulation, and is why the admin stepped in to defederate (stop sending info back and forth) from the rogue instances.
You see stuff like that occasionally from the βtankie triadβ instances, (lemmy.ml, hexbear.net, and lemmygrad) but theyβre usually more subtle about it to avoid instantly getting defederated.
Little bit more.
Someone made 3 servers, then a bunch of accounts on those servers, then used all of those accounts to downvote.
Allegedly because I ain't got the time to manually verify that myself.
Thanks for the elaborating.
Servers, not users. Though each server would have users.
Although I don't think they're bots like the post is implying. OP just spends a lot of time annoying them.
What do people said, but since you're new, here's a recap post on what the whole Tankie situation is about (if you didn't encounter them on Reddit lol
That "recap post" from you looks alot more like you attacking tankies than vice versa.
