This is part of the tactic "have the cake and it eat too". He did his government tour to gain favor with Trump but damaged his brand, and now is just providing friendly opposition to capture the MAGA crowd that does not like the debt ceiling going up while trying to repair his image. It also aligns with the general chaotic energy that floods the news with meaningless drivel that occupies working memory of adults.
Basically just herding the sheep.
Don't forget him managing to completely destroy federal government as well. That was his main goal in the first place.
Specifically, the parts of the federal government with any power over any of his interests. He pretty transparently removed any government oversight of his finances and SpaceX, Tesla, Twitter, etc, and by amazing magical coincidence that was the very moment all the "inefficiency" had been purged and so now he is free to go back to all his hobbies unbothered by those pesky regulators that were giving him grief.
Just deport this fuck already? Its not like his ass pays taxes anyways?

Same can be said for AFABs getting plastic surgery or hormonal treatment to be more feminine. They get way more though....permanent makeup, laser hair removal, eyebrow threading...all gender affirming care.
