"my journey from 0 dollars to 100k a month!!!"
-"I had this business ..."
-find your niche/market

is it even worth listening to them anymore or at all ? They give the most generic advice possible the funny part is if they were successful entrepreneurs they wouldn't need to be doing this 24/7 they are some genuine ones that appear on podcasts but its hard to tell these days, "those that can't do teach".

Thats how they makin money. You see in YT like 30 people selling same shit. Trust me most people that have figured it out for real rthey will never share

[–] FewEstablishment2696@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Lots of people want to "get rich quick" and with minimum effort, so these fake gurus sell the dream via their courses etc.

[–] BabyLizzy0@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

People who sell “how to get rich doing x” instead of actually doing x <<<

[–] ModsAndAdminsEatAss@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

It's pure profit.

[–] YogurtAgitated2070@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

The ones who say "I made $350k on Amazon but I can't share what product it is as I don't want copycats. But buy my course for $499 and see how I did it:" lol too many of them around!

[–] sapphireee@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Because their "products" are the people.

They make money off the people who join/buy, not the thing they advertise they sell.

[–] tshungwee@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Going to be honest I do six figure profit monthly, it’s basically work ~ not sitting by the pool with topless supermodels… I don’t have time to do social media much less teach someone I don’t know how to do it?

So just saying!

[–] Mikaa7@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Exactly, May I ask what niche you killing in ?

[–] tshungwee@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago (1 children)

I sell basic evergreen stuff online… nothing fancy.

[–] Mikaa7@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Great, last question, Which marketing method is going in your favor ?

[–] Status-Effort-9380@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

In my experience as a business coach, most entrepreneurs are creative people. Social media is really fun and creative. It’s also safe, because you don’t really have to interact with people in meaningful ways. People love the idea of having a big following that buys just because you are entertaining.

You know what isn’t fun and creative? Sales. Networking. Following up on emails. The things that actually get people to buy. I have tried and tried to get people to learn sales and cannot get much interest.

Instead, people want to learn how to make stuff. My most popular webinar is “Get started making helpful videos.”

[–] fergie@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

The real question is: why do so many people listen to them?

[–] Tantra-Comics@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Lack of creativity and chasing money Vs something that adds value.

[–] davidedgertonjr@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

I agree. I actually have two coaching clients where I have helped them get better jobs and clarity in their career. I don’t advertise but the results of their actions speak loudly for how I coach them. Part of the challenge is that people what a better situation for themselves in their families so they will go to some of these coaching gurus thinking it is going to help at the end of the day they may spend thousands of dollars but not get the result they want. You have to be careful out there because people are desperate and need a solution to their problem. I think as long as you add value and can prove that you value that it’s OK to be a coach.

Well to be honest the principles of entrepreneurship are pretty easy. It’s the execution that’s killer.

[–] Entrepreneurialcat@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago (1 children)

What are the principles of entrepreneurship?

[–] a13zz@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Read a book- something like disciplined entrepreneurship by bill autlet that will give you a structure.

[–] Entrepreneurialcat@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

I’m interested in your definition though … for me, the principles are simple too.. buy something and sell it at a mark up. Period

[–] zerobyte1@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago (1 children)

I don’t know if we are talking about the same people, but I have been aware of this in the last years. Spanish and English gurus coaches.

In fact, i have been monitoring this. Used to buy many many courses and most of them have ONE thing in common: John C. Maxwell. 🤔

[–] Shadosteel@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

John C. Maxwel

believe it or not they do this in all languages I've checked

[–] detailingwizard16@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

My dad has a niche, but it’s getting really hard would love to help him out

[–] Calm_Leek_1362@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Because... their business is edu-tainment. They're trying to make money on youtube and with some crappy course.

[–] EsQuiteMexican@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

That's their business model. Every business guru is just someone trying to sell a ghostwritten book. Stop listening to idiots online and start actually studying business development.

[–] mrjimmydoe@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

You are the method.

[–] kraang@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Because there is a dream of being an entrepreneur that people want to pursue that is who this sub is mainly populated by. They have an idea of some kind or skills that they feel could result in something, but they don’t know an incredible amount of stuff, and aren’t really in good positions to become entrepreneurs, so they pay other people to find out what’s not working. Where there is a want there are people to fill that want.

There’s also a lot of people on the other side who started as uninspired wantrepreneurs who realized that they themselves are a market and tricking people like them can work because they got tricked. It’s like a self fulfilling recursive market. Entrepreneurship is the only way out if you’ve taken the corporate path. It’s the last dream of creativity and ambition that’s left, no more being a rockstar or a movie star. It’s kind of like an entertaining daydream for people to stew on.

[–] MsebeqLmeme@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

The story of the guy who wrote a book called "How to make a million dollars selling books". The book ended up being a best seller.

[–] Raspberry_Donut__@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Because it's a business in itself.

[–] -GoatsWhoStareAtMen-@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago
[–] Ok_Shirt3809@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Just another scam. Time to move on.

[–] WonderWhyhow@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

They want to make more money by selling courses etc to others so if you see someone giving out info and it has like 2 mil views chances are they are giving Info so that they can selling you a course like giving you one piece of the puzzle and you have to pay for the other piece

[–] Icy-Milk-9793@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

[–] miteycasey@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

People will buy their programs

[–] lrcar@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

I wouldn’t say they’re fake because they found value in sharing their knowledge. I think we all need to be weary of stranger danger

[–] yourdudesam@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

For views for sure.

Are they fake? No, but they are not doing any of the business by themselves. So they cannot provide you strategies that work for the businesses they are talking about.

Are they helpful. Maybe yes. Because whatever they are saying, a lot of people are making good grands from it.

But the trick is that you need to pick a business model and dig deep into it. Internet is changing so fast so you have to experiment with different strategies and find the one that works for you / your business.

[–] Aggressive_Syrup1948@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

That's because nobody teaches that anywhere for real.

Perspectie of the people, like me, who spent 3/4 of their life in a corporate machine+schooling system, is that even tho I really want to, I don't even know how to do the first step. Where to start. Zero. Nothing. Stuck in the matrix.
Look for info "on the web"? ok, who's telling the truth? who's a scammer?
Easy to judge if you have experience, your own or passed from your parents for example...
For me? Not so much. Had neither, was raised in a communist country. Lived a corporate life. GG.

[–] NotObviouslyARobot@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Some people sell products.

Some people sell services.

Some people sell dreams.

[–] BrianFantana_69@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

It makes money. People jump on personal and business finance topics in general, it’s a niche that makes serious side money on YouTube or blogging if you take off.

[–] kidze@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Cause it works. Lots of dumb people buy those course.

[–] FunkySausage69@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Those who can’t do, teach.

[–] cleanurheart@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Did you heard something like, 50$ in australia, fakbro, panza panza panza?

[–] bitchnoworries@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

I can say for a fact that many people that successfully figure something out that's valuable see courses as another income stream. That's what entrepreneurs do. The product sells itself. A lot of these courses also offer a mentorship feature which can change someone's life. There's plenty of value in some of these courses. There's nothing fake about that.

[–] KingBeven@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

There is a significant distinction between course creators and industry professionals. While course creators can be valuable sources of information, their expertise is often based on theoretical knowledge and secondhand experience. On the other hand, industry professionals possess in-depth, practical knowledge gained through years of direct hands-on experience in their respective fields.

Course creators often market themselves as experts on ClickBank, JVZoo, or similar platforms, but their knowledge is often readily available through online resources, including search engines and AI chatbots. Industry professionals, on the other hand, have established reputations and verifiable credentials, making their insights more valuable and trustworthy.

When seeking guidance or mentorship, it is crucial to prioritize expertise gained through practical experience. Industry professionals, with their deep understanding of real-world challenges and solutions, can provide invaluable insights and guidance that can set you on the path to success.

[–] Longjumping_Virus_96@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

they wanna get rich telling you how to get rich

[–] davidedgertonjr@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Someone said that you should give away your best stuff for free and once that happens, people will ask you for your page stuff because they want more. The fake gurus are using marketing tactics to get you to buy the products. There are a few out there that legitimately know what they’re doing and they’re making a business out of their knowledge, which to me is the right thing to do and ethical.

You just have to find them.

[–] AppleAshamed8679@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

The financial market is one of the best markets, always growing and with a good starving crowd (everyone wants to be rich, right). That attracts lots of people, the problem is that the vast majority of them don’t really know what they are doing, they are just trying to get rich themselves, not necessarily wanting to add value to others.
