Many people use headphones like sneharizer and beyerdynamic for 15 or 20 years. But how long do hifiman headphones last? Can you tell me your experiences?

HE-400i, headband broke after about 2 years. Earpads would last 6 months at best until the glue started to come apart. I don't live in a particularly abnormal climate either.

HE-400 still going strong to this day though, haven't had to replace any parts out of necessity.

The original HE6 is a headphone that many look out for today, unfortunately a lot of them are dead now and theyre only about 10 years old. There is no way to fix them, not even hifiman has the tools themselves to manufacturer new ones. The foam dampening used on the inside will crumble over time, the diaphragms also stretch and break, copper connectors oxidize and turn green list of problems goes on...... Go back earlier in time and the hifiman he5's wood body cracks over time.

I've had the Edition XS for 2 years now and I'm still really happy with it. Great sound profile, really lively, only downside is it's bigger than jupiter

My HE560 is 8.5 years old so far, bought in March 2015. The original headband broke so I replaced it with an aftermarket one, but the drivers are still functional and sound fantastic.

How did OP grow three pairs of Hifiman on a tree?

Jokes aside, I have a pair of Sundara. The sound is beautiful, but the build quality is just average.

About 6 months after using it, one of the screws on the side started to come off. It seemed like a pretty common issue. 12 months more later, the headstrap came off as well. Soon after that one of the ear pads got broken during another attempt to fix the screw issue…

So for my Sundara, it only lasted for about one year and a half. Technically I can still use it. But it would be too much hassle to buy new earpads and headstrap, and risk damaging other parts while fixing the headstrap.

Mine arrived broken and then replacement lasted 2 weeks.

My HE4XX lasted almost 2 years before the crappy design gave way! Pretty impressive for Hifiman tbh...

I have enjoyed listening to the Sundara for four years and the Ananda Stealth for a year and have never had a problem.

Though it might sound foolish, I genuinely can't fully enjoy my Edition XS. Each time I put it on, I fear it might be the last time it works. I find myself being extra careful to avoid any sudden movements that might break it.

I previously had a Sundara that stopped working due to the slightest tug on the cable. However it is just too good for it price and I can’t stop myself getting the editions XS, but then after i got it i just use it less than my 6xx because of the fear of breaking it….

Strange. My Sundaras have been pulled by the cable off my desk onto the hardwood floor (by accident) half a dozen times by my dog before he learnt to avoid it. Zero issues, built like a tank.

My pair of HE-500s is at least 8 years old (since that is when they were discontinued) and still rocks harder/has better mids than anything in their newer line. Grab yourself a pair of you see one.
